25.01.2022 We have been working with North Central CMA to update existing planning controls for identifying flood risk in the townships of Carisbrook and Dunolly. This amendment will update the planning scheme maps and controls to identify the risk of flooding and flood damage on new development on land in the relevant overlays. In November last year, an independent panel heard from submitters and flood management experts. ... The panel is an independent assessor of submissions to amendment processes appointed by Planning Panels Victoria (PPV). The report by the panel is now available at www.centralgoldfields.vic.gov.au/amendments

25.01.2022 A partnership between Central Goldfields Shire Council and Dunolly Caravan Park could see a public dump point established for visitors and locals. It is proposed the Dunolly Caravan Park’s dump point will become available for public use after consultation between the park’s operators, the community and Council. 25.01.2022 A reminder that our garbage and recycle kerbside pickups are not affected during the Christmas and New Year period. These collections will remain the same. The green waste pick up service will alter during January, 2021. Collection will move to the second and fourth Friday (for the month of January only). If your green waste would normally be picked up on 1 January 2021, it will now be picked up on 8 January 2021 or if your green waste would normally be picked up on 15 Janua...ry 2021, it will now be picked up on 22 January 2021. From February, 2021 - green waste pick up will revert back to the first and third Friday of every month. 22.01.2022 Be on alert for phone scammers! Don’t give your personal details Hang up Record their phone number and report the scam. Reports of phone scams have escalated over the Christmas and New Year period with several Shires in the state being targeted.... We have also received a report from a resident that scammers called and claimed to be a Council representative. A reminder that our Cutomer Service Centre and many of our services and facilities are closed for the Christmas and New Year period. Our Customer Service Centre will re-open at 9am on Monday 4 January, 2021. Our after hours service will operate as normal. Urgent after hours issues that relate to Council infrastructure can be reported on 0419 005 577. After hours issues in regards to urgent animal control can be reported on 0407 508 448. 22.01.2022 Have you been past Central Goldfields Art Gallery - Maryborough, Vic to check out the Good Vibes Only chalk drawing yet? This temporary installation was created as part of Victorian Youth Week celebrations in the Shire. The Gallery re-opens this Thursday, 3 December with the Community Art exhibition.

You can view the concept plans at www.centralgoldfields.vic.gov.au/dunollylibrary The involves the re-stumping of the existing building and the construction of an accessible toilet, ramp, new shelving, fresh paint and new carpet. The new site also features air-conditioning.... The new facility will replace the current visiting Outreach Van service that is offered by our Maryborough Regional Library - Victoria team.

If you missed out on our first event last week, here is a great video by local videographer Calai Creative From 5 to 9pm, there will be outdoor dining, a pop up Christmas Market and entertainment in the Maryborough CBD. Plus, the Central Goldfields Art Gallery - Maryborough, Vic will be open from 5pm so community members can view their latest display, Community Arts Exhibition.... The initiative is funded by the State Government’s Local Councils Outdoor Eating and Entertainment Package and supports the work of the JumpStart High Street program a group charged with identifying key projects that Council and the High Street and Nolan Street business community could work together on as we drive economic recovery. 02.01.2022 We've been working with the Maryborough Police Station to bring the spirit of Christmas to the Central Goldfields. We're inviting local young people to help us to do so by decorating your own Christmas bauble. All entrants will have their bauble displayed on trees around the Shire.... Want to get involved?
