01.01.2022 Feral and stray cats are a big problem across Australia and the Hepburn Shire is no different. Every year, with the assistance of the community, Council traps a... number of feral cats that are carrying diseases or have been killing native wildlife...which we do not want. To reduce the impact of unwanted breeding, we have set up a cat desexing program where 50% of the cost to desex your cat will be subsidised by Council. To receive this subsidy, you need to be a resident of the Hepburn Shire and show responsible pet ownership by registering and microchipping your cat. Complete the application form on our website (link below) or call our Community Safety team on 5348 2306 to discuss the program. https://www.hepburn.vic.gov.au/cat-program/
