19.01.2022 HOCKEY ACT RETURN TO PLAY GUIDELINES Update Thursday 23rd July, 2020 Dear Members,... With the commencement of Hockey ACT Junior Competition this evening, we again request you all to please keep up-to-date with the most recent Hockey ACT Return to Play Guidelines: https://hockeyact.org.au/return-to-play-guidelines/. We have received advice from the ACT Government that there will be NO CHANGES to the current restrictions. As such, our junior competitions will commence under the same restrictions as last weekend’s senior competition, however with reduced arrival and departure times for juniors, U11s and Hookin2Hockey. Please also note the following regarding parents and guardians: For the safety and wellbeing of juniors, each player under the age of 18 is permitted to have ONE (1) parent/guardian attend matches. These parents/guardians need to be listed on each teams attendance sheet. As a friendly reminder, the following restrictions will continue to apply for this weekend: If you are unwell do not attend If you have been advised to self-isolate, been to Victoria in the past 14 days, been in a known hot spot in NSW in the past 14 days please do not attend any matches regardless if you are a player or parent/guardian No spectators allowed - With the exception of ONE (1) parent/guardian for juniors, as above Change rooms remain closed Correct use of pitch exit and entry points at all times Limit your time within Hockey ACT facilities Keep walk-ways and thoroughfares clear at all times No gathering within Hockey ACT indoor facilities, rooms, corridors etc. People can only be indoors to use toilets or go to the café. Remember your personal hand sanitiser Follow ACT Government social distancing and hygiene guidelines at all times If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact the Hockey ACT office. Enjoy the weekend. Stay safe and well! Many thanks, Hockey ACT

18.01.2022 SPECTATORS UPDATE FRIDAY 14/8/20 Good news! With the update to ACT Government Restrictions Stage 3.1 this past Monday, Hockey ACT is excited to announce we wi...ll be welcoming back a small percentage of spectators this weekend! As of Friday 14 August 2020 Hockey ACT will introduce the following to all venues: Each participant is allowed to have TWO (2) spectators maximum attend a match. The maximum of TWO (2) spectators must include any parents, guardians and carers required to be in attendance. All spectators must record their attendance online with Hockey ACT via the Spectator Attendance Register. QR Codes/venue links will be readily available for scanning around all Hockey ACT venues. Attendance must be completed within 10 minutes of entry. Anyone attending the facility as a spectator or any team official (that is not a coach or manager of a team, or umpire/TO) must complete the Spectator Attendance Register upon entry. Each time a spectator attends a venue across the weekend, they must complete the Attendance Register. If they attend different venues throughout the weekend, they will need to complete one for each venue upon entry. Spectators (excluding Parents/Guardians of junior participants) may only be present at a Hockey ACT Facility for the duration of the game. They may enter no more than 10 mins prior to the game, and must be exiting the facility within 10 minutes of the game finishing. If the TWO (2) spectators live in the same residence they only need to complete the online Spectator Attendance Register once. If they do not share a residence, each spectator must complete the Spectator Attendance Register. People with no link to matches should not attend. No unaccompanied minors may enter as spectators. They must have a parent/guardian present with them at all times whilst within the facilities. As a friendly reminder, the following will continue to apply for this weekend: If you are unwell do not attend If you have been advised to self-isolate, been to Victoria in the past 14 days, been in a known hot spot in NSW in the past 14 days please do not attend any matches regardless if you are a player or parent/guardian. (If you are unsure, please check the ACT COVID-19 Website or contact the ACT Health directly via their dedicated COVID-19 Hotline.) Keep walk-ways and thoroughfares clear at all times. No gathering within Hockey ACT indoor facilities, rooms, corridors etc. People can only be indoors to use toilets or go to the café. Remember your personal hand sanitiser. Follow ACT Government social distancing and hygiene guidelines at all times. For more information and instructions on how to register your attendance as a spectator, please got to our dedicated Spectators webpage: https://hockeyact.org.au/spectator-attendance-procedures/ Thank you in advance for your cooperation, and we look forward to welcoming you back to our venues this weekend! Many thanks, Hockey ACT
17.01.2022 Due to Wet Weather tomorrow, Hook in2 Hockey will be canceled, enjoy your sleep in.
17.01.2022 WET WEATHER Dear Members, Just a reminder that due to the ability of pitches at Lyneham, Tuggeranong and Willows to tolerate water and with competitions sched...uled to be played across Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Hockey ACT will not be cancelling any matches across the weekend. Players should arrive at the facility ready to play. If Coaches or Umpires feel at any stage a pitch isn’t suitable to be played upon then they may make the decision to cancel the match at that time. We do this in order to allow as many matches to take place as possible across the weekend as we do not have time to reschedule matches. We understand that it is inconvenient but looking at the pitches currently and the forecast we would expect a majority of matches will be able to take place this weekend. In regards to Hookin2Hockey, each Club Hin2H Coordinator will make the appropriate determination of whether tomorrow’s session will go ahead, and email participants of the outcome. Have a great if not a little damp weekend. Hockey ACT

12.01.2022 Catherine Dooley marks a huge milestone 800 games for Central Hockey Club this Sunday 27th at 4:45pm on the Powell field. Catherine Dooley (nee Plumb) started playing hockey as a U/8 in Crookwell. She joined Central when she moved to Canberra in 1971, playing for second grade. She benched for first grade and always eyed off the centre forward position held by Julie Abrahams but never managed to secure it. But she does remember scoring a goal as right wing in grand final.... At this time her coaches were Pat and Errol Bill. She has fond memories of playing on the grass fields at Kaleen and then the social gatherings afterwards at the Ainslie Club (Olims). She only took a few years off when she and Charlie had children (Kirsten, Corinne and Shannon). She represented ACT in Master/Veterans on many occasions (from O/40s to O/60s) and has travelled to all of Australia’s capital cities with Masters. She and Charlie have both coached and mentored players over the last few decades and remain an integral part of the Central family. From everyone at Central congratulations Catherine on your 800 games. #centralhockeyforlife #hockeyact #hockeyaustralia #actwomensmasters Hockey ACT Hockey Australia #canberratimes

07.01.2022 RETURN TO TRAINING UPDATE Dear Members,... Hockey ACT has implemented its Return to Training Framework which will see training commence from Monday 25 May 2020. It is important to note the following: - The current phase of the Framework will only see training made available for CL1 & CL2 sides for at least the weeks commencing 25 May and 1 June. This is to allow Hockey ACT an opportunity to monitor measures that have been implemented and ensure they are practical. - It will be up to individual clubs to decide whether or not they commence training. It is important for players to understand that competition may not commence in the next 2 months so please be understanding if your club doesn’t start training immediately. - Currently training is only available for 2 groups of 10 per pitch. - Individuals should follow all COVID-19 hygiene practices. - If you are unwell, DO NOT attend training!!! - Anyone seen spitting inside the facility will be asked to leave with further sanctions possibly imposed. - Fields remained closed unless there is a booking in place. - We understand that the protocols are restrictive but moving through this phase of the framework successfully is the only way we can start seeing protocols eased. - Training will only continue if the protocols outlined in the framework are followed. Hockey ACT needs the support of Members to follow protocols and this will help Hockey resume asap. - The Hockey ACT Office will remain closed to the public. If you have any questions or concerns, please either call or email a member of staff. While the restrictions are limiting initially this is a step towards Hockey ACT’s ultimate goal of commencing the 2020 season hopefully in July. Please follow the link and understand the Framework before making your individual decision before returning to training. Further details, and the full Return to Training guidelines can be found here: https://hockeyact.org.au/return-to-training-guidelines/ Thank you all for your patience and understanding in this matter! - Hockey ACT

03.01.2022 HOCKEY ACT UPDATE FRIDAY 29/5/20 Dear Members,... Today, Club Presidents were informed that HACT intends to commence senior competitions on Friday 10 July, 2020, with junior competitions and Hookin2Hockey programs to commence in line with school terms on Thursday 23 July, 2020. If advice from government changes than we will of course take that advice on board, however given the non-contact nature of our sport along with participants not handling a common ball we believe that these dates are reasonable. Clubs have also been advised that regular training times will become available from Monday 8 June, 2020 with 4 groups of 21 able to utilize a field. It will be an individual club decision as to when they do commence training. For the upcoming week however, training will remain as it stands with only minor adjustments to group sizes. We hope that this is welcome news and now is the time to please touch base with your club, if you haven’t already done so, to let them know that you intend to play hockey in 2020. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Hockey ACT Office, or comment below and we will do our best to respond in a timely manner. Hoping you all have a great weekend! - Hockey ACT
