24.01.2022 Hey everyone, Bj has given me permission to post this. As some of you may know he has been in pain for some months now. After an MRI in Townsville a couple of d...ays ago a growth was found around/in his spine. He is going in for surgery straight up tomorrow morning while we don’t know too much at the moment we will keep you all updated on his progress. We would also like to appreciate you for your patience at Central Motors while we are down in numbers.

Coming into Christmas please do not leave your servicing until last minute because we are just unable to fit last minute bookings! 02.01.2022 PLEASE SHARE Are you travelling through Birdsville to avoid New South Wales soon? We love our visitors and are so grateful for you at this time of... year, but it's hot, remote (and beautiful) out here, so here's a few things we think you should know to stay safe; There is 500KM OF DIRT ROAD between Birdsville & Marree. The road is not suitable for low clearance vehicles, and travel in small sedan type vehicles should be avoided. There is 250KM OF DIRT ROAD between Windorah and Birdsville. We recommend low clearance vehicles avoid this road wherever possible. There is 60KM OF DIRT ROAD between Bedourie and Birdsville. When in good condition, this road can be suitable for lower clearance vehicles if speed is significantly reduced. Google Maps does not accurately reflect driving times or road surfaces. Take the time to reserach the roads you are travelling on. Always call the local police station in small towns for up to date road conditions if not available online. Let someone know your intended route, departure time and expected arrival time. Do not deviate from this route. There is NO PHONE SERVICE between towns/pubs, so please see point above. Always travel with sufficient water and food. Plan on at least 5L pp/day, and have enough for an additional couple of days in case of breakdown. If you experience problems please STAY WITH YOUR VEHICLE, it is much easier to find than a person. If you decide to walk and subsequently seek shade under a tree, you will be almost impossible to find. We recommend taking out the TOP LEVEL OF ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE directly with RACQ or similar. Do not rely on the "free" roadside assistance that comes with new cars, credit cards etc. DO NOT DRIVE ON CLOSED ROADS Tyres for smaller sedan type vehicles can be difficult to source. Ensure you have at least one FULL SIZE spare tyre with you and know how to fit it (do not rely on the space saver that comes with a lot of small vehicles). Book accommodation IN ADVANCE of arriving in small towns. LPG is not available for vehicles in Birdsville. Be sure to drop in and SAY HI on your way past
