20.01.2022 Hi Folks! This year the Central Queensland Blokart Club hopes to encourage more children, teenagers and young adults to become involved in the colourful, excit...ing and challenging sport of Blokart sailing. Anyone, male or female, from about the age of 10 years can sail a Blokart. If interested, all you have to do is come down to the beach venue on any of the days below, flash our friendly sailors a big smile and tell them that you would like to learn to sail a Blokart. Our club is presenting a display at the SPORTS EXPO at the Mackay Convention Centre on Sunday 9th February 2020 from 9.00am until 1.00pm. I will be one of the people there on the day so come in for a look and a chat. Cheers! The program below was compiled by George Camilleri, Jim Garner and Peter Downie. See more

20.01.2022 "The Courier Mail" - Wednesday 30th September 2020. For the first time ever, to my knowledge, this newspaper has published a half page article on our Come and Try Day last Sunday. This is surely one for the record books!!! Three lines have been redacted because of a factual error. CLICK ON IMAGE TO SEE ARTICLE.

16.01.2022 Six karts on Bucasia beach today. Started with light seven knot northerly, but gradually increasing to around fourteen knots and swinging a little to the north east. Some very exciting runs along the beach were experienced as the wind increased. Three newcomers had a go today, and I’m sure after the fun they experienced we will be seeing them back again.

14.01.2022 The northern end of Bucasia Beach is the main sailing venue for the local club. This footage shows some members practising dial up starts and racing to hone their skills for the Cape Hillsborough Regatta on the 12th and 13th of September.

11.01.2022 COME AND TRY DAY - SUNDAY 27th September 2020. The response from the public was massive. The fact that it took place in the middle of the school holidays probably also contributed to us being inundated with heaps of children, teenagers and family groups. Of course, all the mums and dads also had to have a go! Thanks to everyone who came along to make it such a magical day! Everyone went home with the BLOKART GRIN on their faces!

10.01.2022 CQBC come and try day. 19 karts on the beach. This shot is of club members doing a trial race. Lots of people having their first play in a Blokart. Great turnout, well done to all.

03.01.2022 CLUB LOGO HAS FACELIFT. When I first joined this club in 2013, one of the first things that excited my attention was the club logo. I thought that it was absolutely brilliant! Simple, brilliant and somewhat cute! I have been told that a committee met at Magpies Sporting Club back in 2009 and thrashed out many ideas before settling on this design. Over the past couple of years, I have realised that the black font on that dark green background was very difficult to read even ...in good light. Our sign-writer agreed with me and we have replaced the black font with pure white. It looks much better and is definitely easier to read. I love the simple elements of the design, the brilliant colours of the beach sailing venues and also our national colours of green and gold! The similarities between the logo and the photo below are amazing. Even the rocks are in a similar position and are of a similar shape!!!! The only thing missing is the palm tree; but we all know that it would be directly behind the photographer's back. See more
