12.01.2022 Here are some preview pics of the upcoming overnight walk in Wollar Creek on 12 & 13th Sep 2020. 12.01.2022 Due to the weather forecast for rain and cold conditions across the more easterly areas frequented by CWBC I am postponing the canyon trip scheduled for this Sunday (December 13). I am substituting a walk on Mt Canobolas. Traverse the State Conservation Area using both established tracks and off track variations. On the journey climb the three main volcanic peaks plus a rarely visited fourth ‘pinnacle’. We attempted the ‘4 Peaks’ some years ago but finished after 3 peaks due to the heat should not be a problem this Sunday with cool and overcast conditions forecast. Explore seldom visited areas and the main lookouts. 08:45 start from Orange. Maps: Orange & Cudal Grade: 3 (Moderate). Leader: John E Members check your emails for contact details (or message this FB page).

09.01.2022 Yesterday (February 27) CWBC ‘expedition’ to Hat Hill Canyon - becoming a regular on late summer programs in recent years. On this occasion a joint trip with 2nd Orange Venturer Scouts. John and Narelle were the link. Nominally John was the activity leader but leadership on the day was delegated to 17 year old Adelaide. Adelaide was on her second visit to Hat Hill and did a fantastic job with the car park briefing and leading from the front most of the day. The other youth, 1...4 year olds, Archie, Adam and club member, Sabina were great to have along with their energy and zest for adventure. There was also 20 year old Josh who also seemed to have boundless energy for the challenges and went looking for additional ‘tests’ for himself and his younger charges. The somewhat older CWBC members post trip commented on how much they enjoyed having some youth flavour to the day. See more
