11.01.2022 Please be advised that all Community Rugby activities have been postponed until the 1st May, 2020. This situation is out of our hands, but please rest assured the CWRU will be working away to ensure our participants will have meaningful competitions this year.

11.01.2022 The Board of the Central West Rugby Union have met to discuss the current situation regarding Covid 19 and the subsequent planning for 2020. Prior to the meetin...g all 28 Senior Clubs were surveyed regarding their current situation and plans for participation this season. It was very encouraging to note that several clubs across our various competitions were determined to compete in some form of viable and meaningful Rugby in 2020. However, several Clubs reported their frustration with the current lack of information and are eager for certainty. The Central West Rugby Union shares this frustration and the absolute lack of clarity regarding Senior Sport currently coming from the NSW Government and the NSW Office of Sport remains a critical issue in determining our 2020 season. The purpose of the Central West Rugby Union is to provide Rugby opportunities for players, coaches, referees and volunteers, whilst linking families and towns to a Saturday Rugby experience. With this in mind, the Central West Rugby Union Board has decided to delay an absolute and definite decision on 2020 Senior Competitions until Friday 26th June. We understand that this may cause frustration, however, this decision has been made to give our Rugby Community every opportunity available to participate and support Rugby in 2020. This decision allows our Clubs to continue training as they had planned whilst we await critical information being promised by the NSW Government and the Office of Sport. We acknowledge this decision lacks the certainty many people are seeking, but we ask our loyal Rugby Community to support this position and understand that the Board remains committed to providing Rugby to our region. We would also like to acknowledge our Major Partners who have supported us through this time, Blowes Clothing, New Holland Agriculture, Westfund Health Insurance and Oilsplus. Thank you for your ongoing support. See more

10.01.2022 RUGBY IS BACK TOMORROW ....... with some restrictions. Overnight the NSW Government has asked clubs to try and restrict attendees at games. 1. If you have been... to Victoria in the last 14 days please DO NOT ATTEND any games and stay at home. 2. If you have been anywhere near the NSW hot spots please stay at home. 3. If you are feeling even slightly unwell, please stay at home. If you are going to a game tomorrow please adhere to the following; 1. Sign in upon entering the venue. Maintain patience during this process. 2. Practice good hygiene 3. You must social distance. Please spread out around the ground. PLEASE REMEMBER our Clubs are run by volunteers who have worked tirelessly just to get Rugby to begin. They have put more work in this year than any other year. Our volunteers are under enough pressure on match day, please do not add to their stress. If they ask you to spread out or move on, please do so without incident.

09.01.2022 Please see the below media release from NSW Rugby. As always, the CWRU will continue to liaise directly with our clubs to ensure a positive result for our Clubs and the game.

01.01.2022 Congratulations to the match officials that have been appointed to the 3 grand finals tomorrow. Best wishes to all for an enjoyable day. It would be remiss of me however not to single one of our referees out though. John Johnson will take control of the Oilsplus grand final in Harden in what I am told is his 40th year of refereeing.... This, by any stretch of the imagination, is a fantastic effort and achievement. I am sure that everyone that is involved in the CWRURA will join with me in congratulating Johno. Well done mate and go well tomorrow.
