19.01.2022 Congratulations to Harrison who attended the formal ceremony for the Premier’s Anzac Spirit Schools Prize at Anzac House. He was one of sixteen students who received their medallion from the Minister of Education John Gardner. Harrison will attend his study tour in April where he will explore World War II in Darwin and visit various historical places in Canberra.

18.01.2022 The CYS Parents and Friends next meeting is at 2pm on Monday October 19. The Central Yorke School P & F is a fun and friendly group of parents who meet each term to chat, plan and to organise ways to assist our school in providing the best possible environment for our children. Through fundraising, school community events, monthly meetings and ongoing communication with the Governing Council, the P & F gives parents a voice in our school, a support network for families and a helping hand to our teachers. Why not come along to the next P & F meeting in Term 4? New members are most welcome as are younger children.

15.01.2022 With all the stress of COVID-19, it is important to celebrate the good times. Last Tuesday night I had both the honour and privilege to be a part of our Year 12 formal. These students have had to complete their studies through bushfires, a global pandemic and exams glitching. They have embodied our CYS values of Respect, Resilience and Relationships. I am so proud of this amazing group of young people. Congratulations to the Class of 2020. Grant Keleher

05.01.2022 Dear Parents I am about to go into a meeting with the Education CE Rick Persse. Once all Principals have been given the required information from the Premier’s press conference I will communicate with parents about next week and activities for the rest of the year. Talk soon Grant

05.01.2022 Dear Parent/Caregiver, The Premier today announced that schools and preschools will reopen to all students on Monday 23 November. As a result Central Yorke School including Point Pearce and the Early Learning Centre will be open and operating as normal. We will not be offering an alternative home-based learning program. While OSHC is able to operate as usual, families should check with their OSHC service whether it is operating a service on Monday.... As the Chief Public Health Officer said, just because the hard lockdown is being lifted does not mean that the risks associated with COVID-19 have passed. As a result we will minimise the number of people coming and going from our site. Wherever possible, please drop and collect your child at the gate and maintain the appropriate physical distance from other adults. More information on excursions, events and sporting activities, and use of masks will be available soon. As a precaution however, all events and excursions that were planned for next week have been cancelled, including swimming lessons. If time and health advice permits, we will endeavour to reschedule these between now and the end of the year. Thank you very much for your support over the last couple of days. I will make sure to keep up with regular communication to let parents know more information as it comes to hand. Please make sure you have downloaded our Skoolbag app or keep an eye out on our Facebook page. We look forward to having your child back at Central Yorke School on Monday. Grant Keleher (Principal)
