21.01.2022 Do you audit your business? It is vital that business owners manage their risks and though there are many aspects to a business there are basic issues which should be reviewed annually The 10 quick audit issues you should consider:... 1. Do you have the correct organisational structure or does it need to be re-modelled; 2. Do you have the correct industrial instrument, classifications and wage rates in place; 3. Do you have signed contracts, position descriptions, policies and procedures; 4. Are you aware of your financial situation and do you undertake spot checks; 5. Have you paid your Superannuation and Long Service Leave (if portable); 6. What vehicles and equipment do you have and how are these managed; 7. Do you have a security process in place key register, video or alarm system; 8. Are employees receiving any additional monies or equipment and how are these determined; 9. Do you have a process in place for managing work health and safety, incidents, accidents or safe work procedures; 10. 14.01.2022 Pay Increases to Minimum Wages From 1 July 2015 The Fair work Act 2009 requires a complete review of the minimum wages in modern awards and the national minimum wages each financial year. This years workers that are under an Award have been awarded a 2.5% increase, lifting the national minimum wage to $17.29 an hour ($656.90 a week).... The Fair work Ombudsman website is updated by 1st July 2015. As an Employer, What do I need to do? 1. Check what your employees are being paid under the relevant industrial instrument; 2. Review the new wage rates for the relevant Awards when they are released prior to the 1st July 2015; 3. Check whether your Award is still transitioning (for example some streams under the Social Community Health Care and Disability Award); 4. The increase will apply from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2015; 5. If you would like us to send you a copy of the relevant Award when the wage rates are released please send us an email to [email protected] with the required Awards. The increase only applies to employees that get their pay rates from the national minimum wage, a modern award or in some cases a registered agreement. If you have any questions regarding Wage Rates, information is available through the Centre for Australian Industry. [email protected] or 03 6244 8881 Kind Regards Dixie Emmerton Managing Director
