06.01.2022 Back in early 2017, Leigh Hawker committed to a journey to get his body ready to surf a 10-foot wave at Nias by mid-2018. What made this goal interesting is that he just suffered a cervical disc injury which resulted in constant severe chronic pain and neurological weakness down his arm. It was only after 4 weeks that we no longer produced any updates. Here is the reason why. It was mentioned in the second video update (here) that Leigh was going through a divorce and was e...xperiencing financial challenges. I was also going through a stressful time with restructuring and moving our business, and adapting to the changes that a new baby brings to the household. With Leigh and I both experiencing 'big life events' simultaneously, we couldn't find the time to train and produce the updates to document this journey. We are very sorry for that. I only had the opportunity to assess Leigh, and instruct him on phase 1 of his neck rehabilitation program. Thankfully, he was committed and practised the program to be able to centralise the disc. It is now over a year on, and I recently reached out to Leigh to send a video update of his progress. This is that video. https://youtu.be/nY4k5gZ8GoE
