25.01.2022 Something to make you smile...Happy Friday!

24.01.2022 G R O U N D . . . a simple practice to relieve stress and anxiety. - I LOVE this simple five step practice to get grounded. You can do it anywhere (in your car whilst parked, at work, on a park bench, even on the toilet (but you might not want to focus on #2 too much). -... Anyone can take two minutes out of their day to check in and slowwwwww down. This can be part of a regular self care practice, or a tool to use in times of need. - We dont need to meditate for hours to get the calming, stillness inducing benefits (unless you have spare time), this will do the trick for those on the go or new to practicing mindfulness. - In fact, can you put your phone down for a moment and try this?! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 23.01.2022 Trying to get a selfie of me on the computer screen was interesting! I'm clearly a novice at photography I'm really loving being online and offering support for my clients while the world seems to have turned upside down. I've had mixed reactions to the situation. Some people are taking the opportunity to concentrate on their health goals and addressing issues that have been bugging them for a while. But others have put their long term health goals on hold and are now con...centrating on just getting through this unusual time - looking for nervous system support. Please remember there is no right or wrong way to be reacting to the pandemic, and I'm here to support your health in any way I can. That might be working together to get to the bottom of your chronic gut problems, or it may be supporting your nervous system and feelings of anxiety, depression or fatigue that have crept up in the last couple of weeks. All consultations are now online, and if supplements or herbs are needed, I can post them out or order online for you. head to www.centredwellness.com.au/book-now for booking options.

21.01.2022 Happy New Year everyone! So grateful for all of your support in 2019 and looking forward to a great year this year. Just a reminder about my opening hours this month, having a little bit of time off with the fam so Ill be in clinic:... Sat 18th Tues 21st Wed 22nd Thurs 23rd Wed 29th Thurs 30th. Make sure you book in for these dates as appointments are sure to be snapped up quickly! Cant wait to see you all back in clinic

21.01.2022 SELF CARE ON CHRISTMAS DAY - PART TWO Scroll back and make sure you have taken note of part one of our self care recommendations for Christmas Day! Not long now...Here is how to enjoy the day and look after yourself.... 1. Feel good from the outside-in Christmas is definitely a day when you want to dress up a little or wear your favourite festive attire! Wear something that makes you feel good. Use your favourite natural beauty products when showering and getting ready, take some extra time getting ready if you can - enjoy the process! Give yourself an all over massage as you apply your moisturiser! 2. Check in with yourself throughout the day If you find yourself reaching for the chip bowl over and over, pause and ask yourself if youre really hungry. Before loading your plate up with everything on the table, pause and ask yourself what you actually WANT to eat. When you do eat and drink, do it slowly. Chew everything and really delight in the different flavours. Christmas should be a guilt-free eating experience and you shouldnt restrict yourself at all, but its best to do so in moderation. Having one or two cookies is great, but eating so many that you feel sick is not. So check in with your hunger throughout the day to try and avoid completely stuffing yourself. 3. Take a break if you need it Dont be afraid to take a few minutes to yourself. No one will mind if you slip away for 5 minutes to recharge. If youre feeling overwhelmed or stressed, find a quiet corner and take some time for you. You might like to meditate, take a few deep breaths, steam some essential oils, or simply head outside and enjoy the fresh air. Also know that you dont have to join in on the usual family debates, but you do have to look after yourself, so take some time out if you need it. 4. Unwind at the end of the night As you tuck yourself in to bed at the end of the day, take a few moments and reflect on the day. You can ask yourself a few questions: What am I grateful for? What am I proud of doing today? How did I feel throughout it all? If you overindulged a little too much today, sip on a mug of peppermint tea. It will aid the digestion process and is a really nice way to unwind from a busy day. Have the happiest and healthiest Christmas Day this year

18.01.2022 How is everyone managing isolation this week? With the rain today we did some arty things but its clear I enjoyed it more than my boys! They eventually left me alone to work on Simba and went back to Minecraft Then I spent the afternoon on video consultations with my lovely clients and putting together supplements and herbal tonics to deliver. Lots of immune support added on lately which is so important this time of year (especially now!). My 3 fav nutrients to suppor...t your immune system are good quality zinc, vitamin C and Vitamin D, and personalized herbal tonics are great too. I still have some appointment times available on Saturday, for full consultations or shorter ones (Quick scripts) for quick advice and help with acute conditions like immune or sleep support. Head to www.centredwellness.com.au/book-now to make an appointment.

18.01.2022 AND BREATHE...... What a week this has been for Melbourne so far. After a roller coaster of emotions and feeling all the feels, I have decided to pack up my clinic and bring the dispensary home. Without clear guidelines regarding personally delivering or picking up of supplements and herbal tonics, I have also decided that any orders will be delivered via Express Post (Ill split the cost). Supplements available through the prescription service Vital.ly can still be ordered... which is great. This wont actually change much (or anything) for a lot of my clients, since I have been 100% online for a few months now. But for me this was a big move. I love my clinic space at Soul Flame Yoga and had spent a long time finding a room with the right energy and feeling to it. I moved in mid-March and had to move to online-only straight away due to the pandemic so I am yet to see anyone in person in my room! Despite this, the clinic was my little sanctuary where I could immerse myself in research and treatment plans, and I enjoyed been able to deliver herbs and products to clients who lived close by. Also the food and coffee at Chelles Soulfoods Cafe is amazing So it may sound silly, but it was hard for me to pack up my dispensary to bring home, even though this is just for a short time. As a Mum trying to run a business, having that space is really important to me and my sense of self. and I found it very easy to be cynical and chose defeat. But now its time to focus on what I CAN do which is continue to support you guys as much as I can with online consultations and delivering products through the post. I can also chose to focus on my own mental health by taking my supplements (yep even Naturopaths get lazy with taking herbs!!), prioritising exercise and down time where I realistically can, and checking my coffee and wine consumption.

17.01.2022 I feel this is relevant to everyone in Melbourne at the moment. So heres a big shout out to us!! Especially those who arent loving life in this lockdown, who are feeling heavy and dark, and who would love to give up if just for a little while, but stay hanging on. I see you too.

12.01.2022 SELF CARE ON CHRISTMAS DAY - PART 1 Claim back your day by practicing all of some of these simple self care practices... Why not print these out and have handy for the big day?... 1. Savour the morning If you can, start the morning off slowly. Sit and sip a warm drink (lemon in warm water or your favourite tea are great options). Perhaps gift yourself a short at-home yoga practice before everyone else rises. If you can, get outside and enjoy your drink in the sun. If youve got small children, wait until after all the presents have been unwrapped and explored, then take the time for yourself. 2. Eat a nutritious breakfast Although you probably have a big lunch or dinner planned, dont skip out on breakfast to save calories. Instead, fill your belly with something easy and nutritious, like a green smoothie, home made pancakes or eggs and greens. That way you wont be starving and make poor choices come lunch time. 3. Soak in some stillness Take 5 or 10 minutes (or longer if you like!) to sit and meditate. Put in your earphones and listen to beautiful guided meditation or reflect on how grateful you are for everything that will happen today. Express your gratitude for the people you will see, the food you will enjoy and the gifts you will receive. You can even pull out your journal and write a gratitude list if you like. 4. Plan and give yourself the gift of time To avoid getting caught in a mad rush, plan your morning to allow yourself plenty of time to get ready. Set an alarm if needs be and overestimate the time you will need. If youre hosting Christmas lunch or dinner, enlist the help of others so that youre not burdened with the whole hosting gig. Theres no need to feel guilty asking for help most people will be happy to feeling theyve been of assistance. While planning and organising the way youll spend your morning may not seem like a traditional act of self-care, anything that helps you feel calmer and less anxious qualifies as self-care to me. PART TWO coming next week, right on time for any pre-christmas events

12.01.2022 I am still open and will continue to be throughout this pandemic. As with many businesses, the current situation has forced me (kicking and screaming) into the 21st century and the online space . All consultations will now be via an online video meeting using the Zoom platform. This is similar to Skype, but with better connection and security. The attached images show how we can stay connected, and how you can receive your prescriptions while maintaining social distance pre...cautions (this may change in time) I have also made available my "quick scripts" consultations. Usually $30, these are now FREE for existing clients and $10 for new clients. This is a short consultation (around 15 mins) to address less complicated health concerns. I have had many enquiries into how we can support our immune health and mental health during this time, so this short consultation gives you an opportunity to receive personalised guidance taking into account your individual health history, current supplements and medications. The last photos are just smiley ones because we could all do with a few more smiles at the moment. Our world has changed so quickly, it can be hard to keep up. 2 weeks ago I was thankful for my $14 Aldi bathers that Ive had for years and I still love But now.....One thing we can all be thankful for is how technology enables us to interact with friends and loved ones in a way we couldnt have imagined 10 years ago. I know our family will be having many video calls with cousins, grand parents and friends over the next few weeks and while this doesnt replace cuddles and coffee catch ups, we are so lucky to be able to stay connected. #ImNotCryingYouAre Please get in touch if you have any questions - [email protected] or book online at www.centredwellness.com.au/book-now

02.01.2022 Just a gentle note that despite what you may find on the socials, you do not need to come out of this pandemic thinner, fitter, smarter, more zen, a master chef, or anything other than yourself. 01.01.2022 NEW YEARS INTENTIONS... Now that Christmas is over, we can focus our attention on the year ahead! Ready to make this year different? ... Heres how to make intentions that stick: 1. Set intentions instead of resolutions Researchers and experts are now realising the benefits of setting intentions. This helps us attribute more meaning and flexibility to our goals. Intention-setting increases the chances of succeeding by allowing for a range of actions towards accomplishing goals. There are many paths to complete an intention journey. 2. Reflect on the things youve already achieved Before creating goals, use the new year to reflect on everything youve accomplished over the last year everything you have to be grateful for. Theres probably a lot more there than you originally thought. Write it all down, review it and update it throughout the year. Use the progress you already have to propel you forward. 3. Make intentions when you feel ready Wait until youre feeling more positive before even thinking about changes you want to make in the New Year. This should help prevent any unrealistic expectations you may have, creating a healthy realism in your efforts to make positive and achievable plans for the coming year. 4. Start with small, defined intentions Small but concrete actions can boost our happiness more than generic, lofty ones. Making huge, generic vows such as achieving a pay rise of x amount or losing x amount of weight, are very hard to achieve. Instead, try to make small promises that are easier to keep, such as eating more vegetables or going for a daily walk. Not only are these more positively charged, but theyre also something you can realistically achieve and, as a result, stay motivated. 5. Remember that youre in control Youre never stuck with one way of doing something because you can always change your mind. Let your goals evolve. What you feel or want may change over time. Be flexible with yourself and youre much more likely to achieve. So have fun, make positive changes and enjoy the New Year!
