25.01.2022 Yesterday we had the opportunity to work with the wonderful Western Sydney Farm team and the amazing vets from Ironmines to film embryo transfers. A great learning resource for our year 7 AgSTEM speciality semester developed around biotechnology, highlighting the precision, technologies and science of this process. 25.01.2022 Great Hawkesbury and Agricultural focused Hackathon today working with the senior students at Penrith Valley Learning Centre. A day of ideation, reflective questioning, design thinking and creative communication as students planned their approach to their 2020 Archibull project, with a focus on agricultural practices linked to the Hawkesbury River/Deerubbin. Firstly introducing the Winner of our Ag Challenges - Creativity & Infographics - Adam J. Adam has submitted work throughout the year for each of our Challenges. Outcome: two fabulous projects ready to action- initial resourcing, risk assessment and planning underway. Key stakeholders identified- where to next steps considered. A day of Agricultural Science with Blairmount Public School in our No Bees No Future program. The students exit tickets say it all: "I had a amazing day I loved it so much and the people that help was amazing to us today I hope we can do this again someday I loved this day so so much". " I learnt today that agriculture has so many kids of jobs... like being a farmer or being a bio security officer. There are so many jobs!" "I also learnt that PH can help know if soil is healthy." 21.01.2022 This week our staff have been working with the wonderful team at Broken Bay Pearls fine tuning our secondary school programs for 2021. These will include case study excursions and teacher professional learning aligned to the sciences, agricultural, marine studies, commerce/business and geography. The NSW pearl and oysters industry provide the perfect partnered applied learning opportunity and we cannot wait to be able to deliver these programs for schools across NSW.

17.01.2022 Tomorrow is National Ag Day. We had wonderful plans in place to celebrate Ag Education throughout the week with face to face events and celebrations. Unfortunately we are unable to do this in 2020. We know everyone will understand. We still wish to celebrate some of the outstanding work being undertaken in the Ag Ed space as schools and teachers, in partnership with industry and academia, look to support the future of the industry. 11.01.2022 Richmond Agricultural College is excited to provide the opportunity for students to apply for the 2021 Year 7 Agricultural Specialty Stream. Due to the disruptions to communities due to COVID this year we are keen to ensure all children interested in this unique approach to secondary schooling have the opportunity to apply for a place in the 2021 Year 7 class. This is a first of its kind in NSW and will see students apply through portfolio and interview to attend the College.... The students will study a unique curriculum developed to support their passions/interests in Ag/STEM and will be based three days a week on the Western Sydney University Campus (Hawkesbury) at the Centre of Excellence in Ag Ed and two days a week on the Richmond HS Campus. Students will study courses in Design Thinking, Applied Learning (AG/STEM) and Agriculture. They will learn in a transdisciplinary model that sees learning opportunities partnered with WSU, TAFE and industry. Students will also engage in a tailored Ag/STEM transition/careers program from Yr 7- Yr 12 including opportunities for mentoring by academic and industry experts. Students use critical and creative thinking, art and multimedia to work with young people working in agriculture to design future food systems.
