25.01.2022 The fourth quarter has started in the US, and as airlines in the country start to discuss 3Q2020 results the reality is that traffic, while improving, remains well below 2019 levels. That is the conclusion reached during a regional update at the recent #CAPALive October 2020 conference. bit.ly/3m2czJM #CAPAData #CAPAAnalysis

15.01.2022 Our very own Data & Product Director Sharon Dai explained CAPA’s latest air capacity projection model for China at the #CAPALive. China indicates domestic seat capacity will continue to trend above 2019 levels, driven by the following factors: Consumer confidence as COVID-19 cases in China remain contained; Airfare discounts; Continued government policy to relax restrictions, particularly those governing major hubs in first tier cities. ... There will be little recovery in international capacity due to political factors, caution in preventing imported COVID-19 cases and the broader spread of the pandemic worldwide. 11.01.2022 On 16-Nov-2020 Qantas turned 100. During a century of monumental change Qantas has provided global aviation industry leadership in product innovation, technical excellence, operational performance and managerial acumen. In doing so it has survived many dark moments. Periodically reinventing itself, it is a rare exemplar of a successful and resilient Australian business with global reach. Today it is confident in both its capability and in its economic and social relevance: an...d another reinvention is in prospect. bit.ly/32UUjuI #CAPAAnalysis
11.01.2022 WestJet President & CEO Ed Sims shared during #CAPALive this week that he sees no real signs of recovery in the Canadian market until ubiquitous and low cost, rapid COVID-19 response testing becomes available, ideally at every Canadian airport and there is the commercial availability and distribution of a COVID-19 vaccine. Mr Sims added testing could "possibly" come into full effect across all points of WestJet's network by 1Q2021. Register now to view the full Q&A session on-demand. bit.ly/34hMGhy
08.01.2022 At #CAPALive on 14-Oct-2020 CAPA analysts presented an overview of the current situation and outlook for aviation in each of the major regions of the world. Africa’s prospects were looking promising, supported by improvements in infrastructure, better air transport connectivity and easing visa regulations, but despite managing COVID-19 better than expected, the continent has reached a tipping point that could see some of the barriers raised to reduce infection spread, remain ...in place and weaken plans to finally open up the market to its full travel potential. The return to some form of normal is the dream for most of the world, but in the case of Africa a return to normal could actually represent a step back. This year’s unprecedented events could now provide the ideal platform for Africa to catch up with the rest of the world when it comes to air connectivity. bit.ly/2TjKZLC

01.01.2022 It is a sure sign that things are desperate when Europe's airlines, pilot unions and airports all agree. Jonathan Hinkles, CEO of the UK regional airline Loganair argues that without testing at airports, UK aviation is "whirling around like a leaf in an autumn storm". easyJet CEO Johan Lundgren says "Aviation continues to face the most severe threat in its history".... Virgin Atlantic CEO Shai Weiss warns that "without mass testing", the UK's economic recovery "will not take off". British Airline Pilots' Association general secretary Brian Strutton believes "UK aviation is in a death spiral". Augustin de Romanet, chairman/CEO of Groupe ADP, owner of the two main Paris airports, fears the "entire airline sector is slowly dying". bit.ly/37ptGBb #CAPAAnalysis
