20.01.2022 As human beings we often try to do the right thing. Often we fail without being able to understand the cause of our failures. This is because it is not enough t...o understand the difference between right and wrong. There are other factors which help them or hinder them. One must be aware of them. At times this includes one’s own self. It is easy for one to identify what is wrong with others, but it is difficult to look inwards and identify problems with oneself. An individual is composed of Nafs (soul), Ruh (spirit), Jism (physique) and Aqli (intellect, reason). Gainer a deeper understanding of these components can allow an individual to better themselves.

08.01.2022 For those who don't know me, my name is Abdinur Weli, I am the Imam of the Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV) and a proud Black Victorian Muslim. Today I visited the North Melbourne flats which have currently been in a lockdown and was moved by what I saw and heard from the people there. I would like to send messages to some groups in our community and say: To those who are locked in the high-rises, I wish I could hug you to show you the compassion I feel for you. The Victoria...n community is with you, we see you, we hear you and we empathise with you. To the conspiracy theorists and the politicians who stir division, we Victorians strongly rejected you and your cheap semantics. To the volunteers who give their time to support others, thank you on behalf of every Victorian, the work you do is invaluable. To those who reach into their pockets and donate money, food and other necessary items in a time where others are panic buying, you display the highest level of selflessness and generosity. To the wider Victorians who showed courage when they received the news of the second lockdown and said if it is going to save lives let it be, you make every Victorian proud. To those who are responsible for controlling the infection, we are grateful and expect nothing from you but your best ability in these trying times. To the healthcare workers who risk their lives every day to save others, words alone cannot express our gratitude, we thank you deeply. for those who are sick or their loved ones are sick, the prayers and thoughts of the community are with you. we wish you or your loved ones a very speedy recovery. To those who are healthy, we wish you long-lasting health and prosperous life in the future. we are in this together and we will emerge from it together. Thank you See more

01.01.2022 If you have ever wondered how early Muslims achieved so much in a very short time where today Muslims are sinking further every single day, read the following verses. Early Muslims' priorities and relationship with each other is different from what we see today. 8- The poor emigrants who were driven from their homes and possessions, who seek God’s favour and approval, those who help God and His Messenger these are the ones who are true. 9- Those who were already firmly... established in their homes [in Medina], and firmly rooted in faith, show love for those who migrated to them for refuge and harbour no desire in their hearts for what has been given to them. They give them preference over themselves, even if they too are poor: those who are saved from their own souls’ greed are truly successful. 10- Those who came after them say, ‘Lord, forgive us our sins and the sins of our brothers who believed before us, and leave no malice in our hearts towards those who believe. Lord, You are truly compassionate and merciful.’ Qur'an 59: 8-10 What does the Hijrah mean to you?
