25.01.2022 LOOKS OF LOVE between family, friends and strangers. They fly under the radar, but damn they are beautiful. Here’s Jason Statham* looking proud as hell of his little bro. . .... . *my fiancé Mike Image// @threestrandphotography See more

24.01.2022 This feels more important than ever. R U OK?

23.01.2022 Some of what you can expect from my ceremonies I can cram a whole lot of fun and feels into a small amount of time. No bored guests allowed ... Pumped up, loved up vibes only See more

23.01.2022 LOCKDOWN DREAMINGA snapshot of my ‘Saved’ posts. The terracotta palette has got me good! If I had a mood board for my own wedding, it would look like this. Any postponers out there finding their themes evolving as time goes on?

21.01.2022 BACK IN BIZ I’ve got the same giddy feeling I had when I launched this business. A feeling that good things were on the horizon. Being allowed to do what we love doing again is bloody exciting! ‘Cause I gotta tell ya, being part of the ‘weddings are illegal for the first time ever in Australian history’ saga was no fun. ... People get married without guests for a multitude of reasons. Being able to make things official sooner than anticipated will mean the world to SO many couples! It also puts a spring in the step of those couples set to elope in Nov/Dec So here’s a little reminder/clarification: In metro Melbs, there can now be 5 people PLUS your celebrant at a wedding (inc the couple and 2 witnesses) I’ve already loved seeing my feed filled with couples getting it done today in Melbs I am however desperate for the day that the wedding industry opens back up to more vendors. It’s been a hard slog. You’re on my mind, friends.

21.01.2022 So today I didn’t get out of my pjs or eat a meal until 2pm. BUT what I did do was rebuild my entire website on a whim Revisiting my past couple’s images and testimonials hit me right in the nostalgic feels. I can’t wait to share it with you soon. Just a few little domainy computery thingys to iron out first. ... Image// @danny.millo

19.01.2022 CHEERS It’s Friday! Wait is it? Yes, it is ... What day is it? A game I like to play every morning. Couple: Brent + Holly Photographer: @tessashannonphoto Florals: @poppyculture_hq Venue: @jackalopehotels Dress: @onedaybridal

18.01.2022 THE HUMBLE KITCHEN TABLE Late November will mark my return to real life wedding venues. The first time in a long time that I’ll be marrying couples within the walls of beautiful, iconic establishments across Victoria. Kitchen tables/trestle tables/best friends back’s/large rocks will all be traded in for signing tables and matching chairs. ... I’m excited for venue owners and managers. I’m excited for my couples who can get married at their dream locations after months of uncertainty. I’m excited to get out and about and experience Melbourne and beyond. I am also overjoyed that even in light of more options, I still have a bunch of couples choosing to opt for low key, mini ceremonies feat. best friends backs’ or nearby trees. The humble approach is well.....humbling. It’s refreshing. Grounding. It’s own special kind of magic. Remember, however you choose to celebrate your marriage is perfect. Let this year of shitshows be the permission to do it your way. Larger venue weddings, small venue weddings, teeny kitchen table elopements. They are all beautiful. They are all unique. The only expectations that matter are yours. Images// @charmainevisuals

17.01.2022 September 2019 Look at us. So young. So naive. A trio of free spirits frolicking across a different state without a care in the world. I adored this mini getaway. A little different from the solo international travel I was used to yes, but it was the different I didn’t know I was looking for. Travel is such a powerful thing. ... I travelled to the playground yesterday, which had been closed for months in Melbourne, and it was glorious! (Wow, my standards have really taken a nose dive). Can’t wait until we can all move amongst each other again. Experience new things. Eagerly pack our bags in anticipation of that approaching trip Maybe there will be some destination weddings on the cards . . . . Correction: we had lots of cares in the world, has anyone tried to holiday with a baby?

16.01.2022 ACTIVE LISTENING Another very important, yet subtle, skill in the celebrant tool bag. At the moment, more than ever, I feel listening is just as important as providing advice. ... Celebrants. We are the tone setters, the party starters. Leading the ceremony with confidence, warmth and good vibes is our jam. When you think of celebrants you probably tend to focus on their presence and vibe. Their ability to speak in public, write creatively and work a crowd. All really important stuff! But in the lead up to your day, there’s a few other skills that can make the process even more genuine. One of those is the fine art of listening. I try really hard to be a good listener (in between cracking hilaaaariousss jokes of course). I’m always looking to strike a balance between creating enough conversation to make my couples feel comfortable, whilst knowing when to sit back and shut up. Some of the best stories and moments reveal themselves when we just listen. Image// @threestrandphotography

14.01.2022 TWO GROOMS // TWO LOVERS // TWO PEOPLE All couples have love. Not all weddings have a bride @mrtheodoreweddings ... Inspired by @mrtheodoreweddings recent, thought provoking posts and the always inclusive (and wildly fabulous) @holymatrimonty I’ve again double checked that my marketing material doesn’t contain exclusive or polarising language. A good little reminder to have a look at our stuff and make sure that our open hearts are reflected in our words. @pgracephoto Featured in @loveincmag

14.01.2022 C L I E N T R E V I E W A (slightly belated) happy one year anniversary to the bright and beautiful Sophie + Patrick. 2020. The year of losing track of dates.... "When I think back on the ceremony, I remember so much laughter and that fills me with joy. But as natural and fun as it all was, I know that doesn’t happen by accident. I know how much effort you put in and really appreciate the time you took to help us with everything" "Thank you for being such an organised, thoughtful, caring, fun and easy-going celebrant. It was so nice that you could talk about us with sincerity and make a bit of fun of us. So many of our guests said you were the best celebrant they’d ever seen and I 100 per cent agree! And thank you for being patient with me when I was so slow to respond, and for always responding to me so quickly!" "You’re a total natural and you’re going to make so many future brides and grooms really happy. You have such a big heart and this job is just perfect for you Image// @charmainevisuals

09.01.2022 Warm nights in Melbourne Got me feeling those ‘better days are coming’ kinda vibes! . .... . I know, I know, it’s forecast to be 14 degrees in Melbs this time next week. But I think we are all getting better at focusing less on future things we can’t control. Enjoy this moment of warmth friends. Soak it all in nice and good Image// @charmainevisuals

09.01.2022 NATIONAL CELEBRANTS DAY To say I’m grateful for this career choice and for the beautiful friends I’ve made along the way would be an understatement. Celebrating the best job ever with some of the best chicks ever. This year more than ever, I’m proud to be surrounded by so many supportive, uplifting humans/colleagues. ... Thank you for organising @abbiefrewcelebrant @ebonycarvercelebrant @marriedbybeck (and thank you @weddingsbysheridan for bringing Stevie aka ray of sunshine ) Photos taken just before I spilt chai latte all over my top. Thank god wearing white is a rarity in this job #hotmess @ Barn and co.

09.01.2022 IN YOUR FACE LOCKDOWN! Today is a happy day in Victoria. And in my house. Weddings are back on baby! You could feel the collective sigh of relief from the industry and those getting hitched this weekend when the news came through. And its been SO fun seeing my feed filled with joy since. Well done, we did it ... What a ride hey! I’m happy to get off now. . . . . I know last weekend royally sucked for those who had to cancel at a moments notice. I’m still feeling for you. But try to be resilient. I know it’s hard. It’s gonna happen exactly as it’s supposed to @danny.millo

08.01.2022 HAPPY SIX MONTHS as hubby + wifey to these two splendid humans @dani.gleeson @tom.in.a.tree The love they have for each other and the world around them is outrageously beautiful. I want to be just like them when I grow up. ... Thank you for gifting me with some fabulous 2020 memories and thank you for letting me find endless reasons to still chat with you (sorry not sorry). This was the second last big wedding I did and it holds a special place in my heart. Images// @danny.millo

07.01.2022 Starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Sense the warmer months, the backyard socialising and the micro weddings approaching. Like every family, this year has handed us some big challenges. I’ll be glad to see the back of it. But today, I find myself starting to mourn the end of this time too. ... It’s had its own special kind of light

07.01.2022 And to think, my resolutions for 2020 were to do more yoga and eat less Doritos. Ahhh the January naivety. But rightio, lockdown 2.5. Let’s do this. We have a plan, love or hate it, it’s a plan. Yeah its not easy, for so many reasons, but it’s something to work towards. Everybody is impacted very differently and therefore everybody’s response to how this should be managed is reflective of these differences (thanks @wholelottalovecreative for reminding me of this). It’s an em...otional time. It’s important to remember that and try to practice empathy. This week will be filled with more exhausting conversations for many of my couples who are, well, over it. They are not just on an emotional rollercoaster due to ever changing wedding plans, they too are parents and business owners and siblings and friends, making daily sacrifices and feeling pretty flat. I know sometimes my sarcasm and ridiculousness can come across as flippant when there are lots of shitty things going on around us. But a little bit of light heartedness helps to keep my anxiety from taking over my rational thoughts. That’s all. I promise on the inside I’m feeling for everyone who’s struggling and fatigued by this all. I’ve spent many years practicing the belief that ‘things will work out’. That somehow they just have to. I know it’s a bit naive, but it’s my coping mechanism. We all have one. None of them are right or wrong. Embrace whatever you need to in order to cope. Whether it’s printing out the Victorian covid roadmap on an A3 piece of paper and following our progress along (that just me?) or turning off your phone/tv and burying your head in the sand for a while. Whatever it is, embrace it. Be kind to yourself and patient with others. I’ll be in touch today with my 2020 superstar couples, but first, coffee (just kidding I don’t drink coffee). But first, tea (nah doesn’t sound as good) Image// @charmainevisuals

07.01.2022 HOLD ONTO YOUR HATS! Tonight’s gonna be a big one 11 years together. 5 years engaged. 1 beautiful daughter. 1 wedding reschedule. And a whole lotta love! Sarah + Matt got hitched today...without a hitch. Except for maybe a barn that was a little bit warm and steamy (she’s a hot one in Melbs) But thanks to a dedicated, and hilarious, best man, regular towel downs were provided to the groom throughout the ceremony. ... I couldn’t be happier that today came together for Mr + Mrs Kotoa, they truly deserved it. Two of the kindest, happiest, fun loving people going ‘round. . . . Getting to work alongside my girl @sigridpetersenphotography was an added treat. I just wanna squish her realllllll hard. Look at that smile! @ Olinda Yarra Estate

05.01.2022 Can’t wait to get this close to your Nans again @tessashannonphoto

03.01.2022 NOT EVEN THE BORING BITS HAVE TO BE BORING It almost looks like someone has said to us Quick! There’s a photo being taken pretend someone said something funny. Except that didn’t happen, we are just having THAT MUCH FUN signing paperwork. Real, genuine good times. That’s what happens when you team up with a celebrant you click with. The whole process, from start to finish, is a good time. @shotfromtheheart

03.01.2022 CLIENT REVIEW Oh Ally, where do I start. From the first time I met you, I knew you were the celebrant for us. You are such a beautiful person inside and out, the energy you come with is amazing. On the day you were my calming voice, you helped the boys with their flowers, showed your boss girl colours when needed and were just the best fit for us.... I would highly recommend you to anyone getting married. Thank you so much for everything @sigridpetersenphotography

02.01.2022 ...and here you’ll see 4000 photos of my son. Ooh and my dog Molly when she was a puppy. Oh and there’s my cat Xavier wearing a Santa hat That is NOT what’s going on here (thank gawwwd). What I am doing here is coming to see you at the end of the aisle after I’ve just introduced you to the world as MARRIED. I always encourage your guests to greet you at the end for a congratulatory hug before you head off for photos or a little breather. Sometimes I have to lead the cavalry... so you aren’t standing there all awkward. And this is when we usually say excited things to each other like ahhhh you’re married, have a big squishy hug and get a photo together. Then I send you on your way and leave you to hang with your real friends. @mattdelaney.jpeg

01.01.2022 GRATEFUL Yesterday was the BEST day. Knowing I can get people married this weekend...and still take my 2 year old to the aquarium for his birthday, got me feelin’ all the grateful feels. Might spend some time looking off into the distance like this today, with a feeling of gratitude for the little things...But with less make up on. 01.01.2022 Weddings? Yes those. You might remember them. Well guess what Victoria?! They are slowly making a comeback As of 11.59pm tonight those who reside in REGIONAL Vic will be able to get married in front of some guests! Guests!!!! 10 people to be exact. That 10 does include the couple, the celebrant and the witnesses (and there will still be restrictions to adhere to) so we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves. But hey, I’ll take any slither of positivity right now. This mor...ning I also narrowly avoided stepping in a big dog turd,so things are really looking up. Hopefully us in Melbourne will be celebrating the same milestone before we know it. Image// @charmainevisuals
