19.01.2022 WARNING: this is a long..ish post and the second of this nature that I've had to do in recent years. Last time it was due to another Celebrant replicating my Social Media presence as their own. This time my intellectual property, my ceremonial words, are being used in the services/ceremonies officiated by others. I've spent 12 years creating, developing, improving my style, my writing and my craft, to say I'm upset is an understatement. IF YOU CANNOT WRITE YOUR OWN MATERIAL,... THEN YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS IN THIS INDUSTRY. I know that professional integrity is quickly becoming a human characteristic of the past, however, I was slapped in the face by the reality of that this morning as I sat and watched some of my own words being delivered by someone else. My literary material is subject to copyright and I will pursue legal options if necessary to rectify this situation.

We will move to 'STEP 2 of Regional Vic Roadmap' for reopening. This effectively means NO CHANGE until the threshold of <5 new daily Regional Cases (past 14 days) and 0 unknown source cases (past 14 days). ALTH...OUGH NOT DEFINITE - The Premier indicated this threshold to move to Step 3 of Roadmap is highly likely to be met by the end of September. 12.01.2022 After two cancelled wedding dates, this amazing man and I decided the week before Christmas that we were no longer participating in the game of Covid19 vs Weddings. So, with the incredible generosity and flexibility due to short notice of Glenn & Virginia Fraser of the stunning The Grand Majestic, my wonderful colleague @sharonbyrnecelebrant and my talented and dear friend Dave of David Bailey Photography who captured the special moments for us.......David and I shared our marriage day on Saturday. No wedding, just loved immediate family in attendance during our intimate ceremony. Although not what we originally planned, or even planned the 2nd time, it was simply perfect. 02.01.2022 The question I'm being asked most at the moment is around the topic of masks and marriage ceremonies here in Regional Victoria. So I've tried to answer some of those questions here: DO THE COUPLE being married have to wear masks? The answer is 'No' whilst the ceremony is taking place AND 'Yes' leading up to and after the conclusion of the ceremony. DO THE BRIDAL PARTY (BRIDESMAIDS & GROOMSMEN) have to wear masks? The answer is Yes and Yes, at all times.... DO THE PARENTS OF THE COUPLE have to wear masks? The answer is Yes at all times. DO THE GUESTS have to wear masks? The answer is YES at all times unless they are under 12 years of age or have a valid exemption. DOES THE CELEBRANT have to wear a mask? The answer is YES leading up to and after the conclusion of the ceremony, however, if it is necessary to ensure the ceremony is audible then the Celebrant may remove their mask during the ceremony only. DOES THE PHOTOGRAPHER OR ANY OTHER VENDOR need to wear a mask? The answer is Yes, Yes and Yes. I know these are not necessarily the answers we would like, however, they are the current requirements here in Regional Victoria.
