22.01.2022 THROWBACK Today, 5 years ago, I married Taegan and Shannon and it was my first EVER ceremony. Good lord I was nervous, in the hours leading up to it, I thought I was going to vomit or my pants. ... I never realised what was in store for me starting this journey, I was hoping to do about 20 ceremonies a year as a part time side hustle. Little did I know, this passion would turn into a full time, bustling business, where I now do 4-5 times this many weddings each year. Every time I am invited to share a couple's celebration I am reminded of the gratitude, joy and happiness this role brings me. Today I am celebrating this anniversary by thinking of all the couples I've worked with, the ones I am looking forward to working with, all the vendors I get to be creative with and many of whom I now call friends. 21.01.2022 Mr & Mrs Sexton // It was Alex’s first day at a new school in year 9 and as the teacher introduced him, there were a couple of girls sitting around Beck who had dibs on the tall, shy and very cute Alex before he’d even sat down. Beck didn’t take too much notice of the newcomer, she was deeply in love with her boyfriend at the time.Two weeks later, it was a different story though and Beck had ended things with her heartbroken now ex-boyfriend, determined to profess her love t...o Alex the very next day at school, only to arrive and find out he had started dating someone else. Thanks to the little hiccup with timing, Beck and Alex became fast friends instead and spent the next two years in each other’s lives and completely platonic. During their final months in school as uber mature year 12 students, Beck and Alex became aware that there was something more to their easy and slightly flirtatious relationship and they weren't just hanging out as friends anymore. 16.01.2022 Love from the Franco's "We first met Leisa at the Tweed Coast wedding trail were we hit it off straight away, she was funny, charismatic and most importantly for us easy going, she could strike up a conversation with anyone! Due to the circumstances of 2020, we actually ended up eloping on our original important date in our home city of Sydney and then going ahead with the non-official wedding and celebration on a revised date up on the Tweed Coast. Leisa was so understan...ding and accommodating with this, helping us find a local celebrant in Sydney and then changing up the script when we did go ahead with the celebration so that no one felt left out but also ensuring everyone knew we legally married on our original date. 15.01.2022 ARE YOUR A FRIEND FROM WORK? After Jasmine and Courtney's beautiful ceremony on Saturday, this is the question I was asked from some of their family and you know what? Being asked this question makes my heart sing because it means I delivered what I feel is the best kind of ceremony - truly personal with an atmosphere of warmth and familiarity, as if I'd been a part of their lives for years. There were a few moments last weekend, sharing the celebration with Jasmine and Courtney that made my eyes watery, their love and connection was simply magic to witness. 07.01.2022 TIFFANY & JORDAN // As the stars aligned, one magical night, these two kindred souls happened to meet after swiping right on Tinder!! Drawn into easy conversation Jordan and Tiffany’s first date started great with a beach walk. Things got a little dicey when Jordan asked if Tiffany would like to take a little detour off the path, and she hesitantly agreed and they ended up on a jagged cliff where Tiffany’s mind was screaming, this is where I die. Thankfully, it turns out ...Jordan isn’t a serial killer who was planning to push her off that cliff and as the shock wore off Tiffany was able to truly appreciate the beautiful space and they sat on that cliff top for hours, talking and watching the waves and the clouds come and go. With a giddiness that only new love looks like, they could scarcely tear themselves away from one another, so they set up their next date and shared the world’s most awkward first kiss.
