18.01.2022 Solos for Sub Juniors Julie Jellis Dance is running a five week special program for Sub Juniors to learn a recreational Cali solo or Graceful solo. The aim of these workshops is to provide the girls an opportunity to learn routines that involves calisthenic elements and performance skills. We are excited to provide our calisthenic Sub Juniors the opportunity to learn a Cali solo, Graceful solo or both. As we have had no chance to learn and perform a routine this year I am ve...ry keen to create this platform to help our girls improve before 2021. During these sessions the girls will learn free exercises, cali tricks, character dance and ballet technique. The girls will learn their solos in a group situation. This will give them an amazing platform to begin their solo journey in a non threatening, happy environment. At the completion of this program they will perform their solo by themselves and receive an individualised critique and Academy of Calisthenics certificate. At this stage both the classes and the concert will be learnt on Zoom classes but if the opportunity arises to go back to the studios we will. Classes are $10 each. Limited places are available. Please send all inquiries to [email protected] Classes commence this Saturday November 14th. 10.30 am

09.01.2022 We’ve been very lucky to have had some beautiful calisthenics girls choose to come to Ceres in the later years of their Cali careers. This move can be daunting at any age, let alone as a Senior. Our gorgeous Erin-Louise Gibbs knows first hand exactly how scary this can be... I became a Ceres senior in 2016. Walking into a championship club at 21 years of age was a daunting experience, however I was instantly made to feel a part of the Ceres family by the coaches, club mem...bers and my teammates. One of the first things that impressed me about Ceres was the emphasis on community. Ceres is such a tight-knit club and the coaches ensure each and every member is made to feel welcome and loved. It really is a home away from home! Since moving to Ceres, I have had the privilege of working with incredible coaches. They have helped to enhance and further develop my calisthenics technique and confidence. I will be forever grateful to them. My Ceres senior teammates are absolute superstar performers and the most amazing people. I feel honoured to be in a team with each and everyone of them. I want to thank Julie, my coaches, my teammates and fellow Ceres members for making me feel so welcome and supported. I love Ceres and I look forward to being a part of the Ceres community for the rest of my life. As well as a stunning performer, Erin is one gorgeous human and we feel so lucky to have her apart of our club. Head over to our Instagram to see Erin in action in her 2019 RSSS Graceful Solo choreographed by Derryn Timms and Lynette Cousins! 08.01.2022 State Team update from Cali Vic

08.01.2022 Moving to a Championship club is a huge step for any calisthenics girl. This week we asked one of our Ceres Seniors, Kat Bast, about how coming along to Ceres has changed her Cali career.... I first moved to Ceres in 2014 as a last year junior and to say it was the best decision my sister Charli and I made in our Calisthenics journey is an understatement. Ceres has given me countless opportunities to better my calisthenics by having access to some of the best coaches our... sport has to offer. I have had the honour of being coached by Kim Jellis, Lynette Cousins and Rebecca Gross and am lucky enough to have my solos coached by Penny and Julia Doig. I have been able to achieve my Gold Medal and have qualified to obtain my Honours. I also achieved a dream of mine, winning the prestigious Vera Hopton Trophy when I was 16, being the first Ceres girl to do so, that is something I hold very special to my heart. I have developed and improved so much whilst being at Ceres in not only my technique but also in the way I perform and bring across emotion on stage. I want to thank Julie and each coach, who create such an amazing place to be apart of and for making every person who walks through those doors feel like family. I also would not be where I am today without the foundation that Berwick Calisthenics, Melinda Moutsos and Sarah Lynch (Cairncross) helped me build prior to my move. Ceres is such a special part of my life, the people I have met and the moments I have been apart of will forever stay with me. I will always be proud to be a Ceres Girl. Wow, after just 6 short years at Ceres, Kat has definitely improved and matured into an absolute star! We are so proud of her!
