25.01.2022 Yesterday, here at Chiltern Kindergarten, with some help, the children's hands were painted black. They were then asked to wash the paint off. When they came back they were asked to make a hand print of their hands. The children were a bit confused, because how could they make a hand print, if they were supposed to wash it all away. Our group discussion today, I hope clarified some of the confusion.

24.01.2022 Recently the children at Chiltern Long Day Care, have been experimenting with different tools to paint. Today the children used forks, with some beautiful results.

21.01.2022 Look what we found this morning at Chiltern Long Day Care, 0 -3 years. The Chiltern babies were so excited. Froggy songs were sung to entertain the frog before it was released. Have a great day everyone.

20.01.2022 Fun times here at Chiltern Long Day Care with slime. These guys are learning new words for what they are feeling, as well as exploring and revisiting concrete concepts such as cold, and wet. Let's not forget the yuck factor and how good it tastes......hmmmm.

19.01.2022 The children and the educators had lots of fun dressing up as Super Heroes yesterday to raise money for a donation to Muscular Dystrophy Association research.

18.01.2022 Here at CEYC South Street, we are continuing to look at how we can repurpose items we would normally throw away. This mobile was made with plastic bottles and old cds. It looks great!

17.01.2022 This afternoon the children saw some planes, which meant..... you guest it, the children pretended to be planes. So much joy, in something so simple.

09.01.2022 Today at Chiltern Long Day Care, we celebrated Zoe's birthday with a dress-up day. What fun! All the children looked amazing, as did the educators... Afternoon tea looks amazing, as one of our mum's has made us some yummy looking macaroons. Enjoy the rest of your day everyone.

09.01.2022 Hello everyone, Chiltern Kindergarten and Long Day Care are open as usual for our families. Thanks for supporting us during this challenging time with the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia. We remind families to wash or sanitize their hands upon arrival. Our friendly educators will happily assist you to sign your child in on the Kiosk. If any families are choosing to keep their child/ren at home that is ok, we will keep your child enrolled ready for their return in the future. We have vacancies on Mondays and Fridays if anyone requires any extra working days, just give us a call to let us know your plans.

09.01.2022 This week we explored Eric Carles' story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar.' The children built on skills such as listening and concentration skills, comprehension to make sense of a story through picture clues, counting, memory to re-tell a story, creativity and fine motor skills as they practiced cutting with scissors.

07.01.2022 I had sooooo much with the children at CEYC Chiltern Kindergarten, and today was a fitting end to my brief visit. Face painting and monster stories....Good times. See you all next time.

05.01.2022 Good morning, this week at South Street Community ChildCare and Kindergarten we are beginning our journey through the discovery of sustainable practices. Yesterday the children helped to plant some herbs in recycled bottles. We opened the discussion into respectful and practices and will continue to explore our environment and the impact we have on it. Stay tuned for further updates.

04.01.2022 What great timing! This week we have been talking with the children about their pets at home. Many have shared they have dogs , cats, birds, ferrets, horses, piglets and fish. The children enjoyed meeting a horse that was passing by the fence. Later they used paper bags and craft pieces to make puppets about their pets.

02.01.2022 Welcome to Term 2 at Chiltern Long Day Care Centre. The children have been challenging themselves on the obstacle course today. It was great to watch them manage risk, problem solve and explore their gross motor dexterity through trial and error.
