25.01.2022 It was been really good to back into turning. Tonight members undertook Entrapment Drills. Thank you Mount Taylor Fire Brigade for allowing us to use their Tanker.

24.01.2022 Due to COVID-19 restrictions, engagement with the community (to help plan and prepare) cannot go ahead in the usual format. CFA’s Fire Prevention and Preparedne...ss team have put together a ‘quick poll’ a one-question survey to determine how to best engage with communities ahead of the fire season. You can complete this quick poll here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NKRHNWL

22.01.2022 A very special coin and we say thank you for those that served with us.

18.01.2022 The PPC has come a long way in its development since the early days of CFA when members had to wear their own clothes, which didn’t offer the protection that modern clothing offers us. http://www.youtube.com/w/zE_XTTqSonU

16.01.2022 Residents in Mallacoota, Wairewa, Nowa Nowa, Mt Taylor and surrounding areas may see or smell smoke from the ignition of the following planned burns today, Wedn...esday 14 October. Piles of bushfire debris, 4kms south-west of Mallacoota at the Historic Bunker site, and just north of the Mallacoota Cemetery. Piles of bushfire debris in Smith Close, Wairewa 5.5kms east of Nowa Nowa. Piles of bushfire debris 5kms north of Mt Taylor, just east of the Bullumwaal Road. Continuation of fuel reduction burns adjacent to Nowa Nowa Mountain Bike Park and at Coxs Road, Calulu. These fuel reduction burns aim to reduce the spread and intensity of future bushfires and reduce hazards leading into spring and summer. We understand that smoke from planned burns may cause concern and encourage those who are sensitive to smoke to remain indoors and keep windows closed until the smoke passes. Under the current public health advice, our planned burning program can continue for now. If that advice changes, we will make any adjustments necessary in consultation with Victorian Department of Health & Human Services, Environment Protection Authority Victoria, CFA (Country Fire Authority) and Vic Emergency. Our crews are adhering to appropriate physical distancing and hygiene requirements to ensure we can safely continue operations across the state. To find out when and where planned burns are happening near you go to www.vic.gov.au/plannedburns or call 1800 226 226. CFA Gippsland MAD Recovery - Mallacoota And District. 11.01.2022 For #FireActionWeek2020 we've asked Firefighter Justice from Heyfield Fire Brigade CFA to help us answer some of your questions about preparing your property for fire season.

08.01.2022 Today we mark one year since the start of the devastating bushfires which deeply affected Victorian communities across the state. On 21 November, 2019 the first... ‘code red’ fire danger rating in almost a decade was declared in the Mallee and Northern Country, and dry lightning strikes in East Gippsland that started three fires which grew to a widespread bushfire disaster that burned for months. Today we reflect on the devastation and challenges that followed 21 November and the incredible support from all emergency services who came together to aid the communities impacted by the unprecedented fire season.
