05.01.2022 A timely remind to check weather conditions, ensure you have adequate water supply and always register your burn off on 1800 668 551, for more information head to www.cfa.vic.gov.au/plan-prepare

05.01.2022 EXERCISE VIGILANCE WHEN BURNING OFF AT HOME! Last week a Tyers resident returned home from work to find smoke coming from the rear of their property. On investigation, the resident found the smoke was coming from a burn pile that had been lit and extinguished (or so he thought) 2 weeks ago. The recent wind had flared a tree stump which had continued to burn internally without the residents knowledge. This incident is an important reminder of the need to completely extinguish a burn off with water and check your burn in the days following to ensure it is completely out. For further information about burning off head to: https://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/plan-prepare/burning-off Tyers Fire Brigade Latrobe City Council
