24.01.2022 Message from Bro Chris Carlile on behalf of ANCOP Australia and the CFC National Council regarding CFC's response to the Bushfire Appeal: Dear Brothers and Sist...ers in CFC We have all been shocked and dismayed at the bushfire emergency that has gripped many parts of Australia. As a first response many of us have offered up prayers for all those directly impacted by the bushfires through loss of life and property across many states. Let us continue to hold up all the survivors and the many selfless volunteers before the Lord and continue to pray for their safety and well-being. Many members of the CFC community have asked about what practical assistance can be provided and whether ANCOP would receive donations for bushfire victims. Unfortunately, ANCOP cannot issue tax deductible receipts for activities in Australia, only for our overseas work. In addition, ANCOP has no way to distribute funds to people in need across many different communities. Given these restrictions I would therefore ask members of CFC Australia wishing to provide material assistance to consider donating directly to either the Society of St Vincent de Paul: www.vinnies.org.au or to the Red Cross: www.redcross.org.au Both of these highly reputable national organisations have fundraising links on their respective websites for the bushfires and can provide tax deductible receipts for any donations over $2.00. As part of our social ministry we will continue to stand in solidarity with the bushfire victims through our thoughts and prayers, and if you are able, through a financial donation.
