24.01.2022 As we start to turn our back on 2020, I’d like to thank our awesome community for the support it’s shown myself and also to one another. The year has given us great moments and also times of hardship, and the biggest thing that’s come out of it is that we’re always in it together. There’s been so many ways our community have stood up to help each other over the year. I’m extremely grateful and thankful for all of you and the time and effort you’ve put in. 20.01.2022 Hey Crew, Were all aware of COVID-19 by now and the speed in which its spreading. Lets all do what we can to keep the gym as safe a place as possible, so we can keep doing what we love through this period. - Firstly, if youre sick, please stay away from the gym until youre feeling better.... - Please use hand sanitiser or thoroughly wash your hands before starting every class. Ill go hunting for a big bottle of sanitiser tomorrow morning - Please wipe down all equipment you use with the disinfectant wipes or spray and wipe down the gear with the spray bottles and towels Ill bring in tomorrow morning. We should keep the fist bumps to a minimum or not at all, go for a foot tap if you feel more comfortable with that. Yes, the symptoms of COVID-19/Coronavirus are flu like symptoms that are not likely to have a devastating effect on us. But we must do our bit to stop the spread of the virus from us to those more vulnerable. If you have someone at home or are in frequent contact with someone that may be vulnerable, it may be a good idea to stay away from places of high risk. If anyone would like home workouts to do over the next couple of weeks, Ill have something put together tomorrow morning. Thanks Crew! We got this!

We may get away with being a little short in the 2nd pull at lighter weights, but not today. ... Aggressive pull under the bar to receive. Get in position fast, be braced, stay braced and hold your form. In the Jerk, stay upright in the dip drive. Push the bar back, be sharp under the bar ensuring the back leg is taking its share of the load in the receiving position.

Our goal is to lift well when fatigued from our previous reps. Do not aim to lift heavier than anyone else, focus your attention on holding solid positions and balance rep after rep. ... Today, keep the weights challenging, but repeatable over the full set. Sets of 5, Low Hang Clean & Jerk will test you’re ability in keeping your centre of balance where it should be, when it should be, without adding a barbell that’s too heavy to the equation. 12.01.2022 To those new to a training program. Consistency and building healthy habits/routines should be your first priority. Getting to the gym 3-5 times per week, taking the time to prepare healthy meal options, getting enough sleep, all these things should become non negotiable. Making the effort to transform your lifestyle to accommodate your goals, is the critical piece to being successful in achieving your goals or not.... That being said, for long term success, our lifestyle should be one that is sustainable. For example, a lifestyle of eating nothing but chicken and greens, 4:00am wake up, 10:00pm bed, double session training days, while maintaining a full time job and family is not going to work for long. Sure, it may win you an 8 week challenge, but before long the weight will be back on and your old habits will resurface. Set your goals. Set reasonable weekly targets of the things you can control, while living a functional, happy and positive life. Be discipline. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

09.01.2022 Its better to move well at relative low intensity, than to sit on the couch. - - - Everyday doesnt need to be your best performance from a scoreboard point of view. Take it back a notch somedays and work on your technique and movement quality. ... For me, I use Mondays each week to focus firstly on my movement and breathing. I ensure Im using the ideal muscle groups to drive the particular movement Im performing, and not let fatigue force me to compensate in any way. The intensity is kept around a 7 out of 10 RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion). Its great to walk out of the gym feeling a hell of a lot better than when you walked in.

If youre plan is to train 3 days in the week, sort your schedule out, book in to the classes, then get your ass there regardless of how hard it is to get up at 5:00am, or how comfortable you are on the couch.
