19.01.2022 Project Spotlight: Pacific Asia Express CFM Air Conditioning was engaged by Pacific Asia Express - one of the top 20 largest container carriers worldwide to provide our expertise for the replacement of their air conditioning system which was originally installed in the early 1980’s. As part of the design brief PAE sought to control the temperatures for all the differing sections within the building. To begin we first had to remove the entire ductwork throughout the building..., as well as all the rooftop package units and condensers. All works were coordinated to ensure partial air conditioning could stay in place, allowing for the business to continue to trade during this time. CFM picked up the design brief because of our customized and tailored response to the customer which our competitors could not provide. Our Service team now looks after the maintenance of the building and we will continue to work with Pacific Asia to ensure all their occupants, tenants and staff have a reliable air conditioning system that is able to deliver a safe and comfortable environment to work in, delivering another example of the capabilities CFM is able to offer its clients.

10.01.2022 AIR CONDITIONING ESSENTIAL MAINTENANCE & COVID-19. NOT having a well-maintained HVAC system in commercial buildings during the COVID-19 pandemic can pose a risk. The virus is known to be spread mostly by droplets on surfaces, however, there is a possibility of airborne transmission of the COVID-19 virus spreading as droplet nuclei (2.5 to 10 m) can remain suspended in the air for hours and therefore can be entrained into HVAC systems. It is highly recommended that building o...wners and operators take the recommended measures to further reduce these risks, and prioritise having their ventilation systems checked and cleaned to industry best practices as a preventive measure during this time. Failure to service and maintain these systems can create significantly higher safety risks in both occupied and unoccupied buildings. Measures include: 1. Cleaning, disinfection & filtration. 2. Humidity temperature adjustments and ventilation rate changes. 3. Maintenance regimes and essential safety measures The continued application of good housekeeping and preventative maintenance regimes are imperative. > Read the full article below... #buildingmanager #facilitymanager
