24.01.2022 Saturday 21 November marked the 100 year anniversary of the Bloody Sunday massacre in Dublin, Ireland. On this day in 1920, British forces opened fire on a crowd of Irish supporters at a Gaelic football match between Tipperary and Dublin at Croke Park, killing 14 civilians and wounding many others. Today, our Union remembers the 14 men, women and children who never returned home that Sunday, and stand in solidarity with our Irish brothers and sisters in commemorating this mo...urnful day. #B100dySunday
24.01.2022 We can’t rely on our Governement to stand up to sexism and discrimination in the workplace. It’s only the unity and voice of working people that can make our workplaces safe for everyone. Complete the UnionsACT survey on Work Health Safety and gendered violence to help stamp out sexism in the workplace: https://bit.ly/32xvlB7

22.01.2022 LEST WE FORGET.
19.01.2022 Last week, the UnionsACT Anna Stewart Memorial Interns visited the CFMEU office to meet with ACT Branch Senior Industrial Officer, Ros Read. Anna Stewart was an Industrial Officer for one of the precursor unions to the CFMEU, and we are proud to help carry on her legacy by welcoming this years' Interns to our Branch.

04.01.2022 Great to get down to the Can Give Day walk this morning to help raise funds for the Canberra Hospital Foundation. Health workers have been on the front line fighting COVID-19 and supporting bush fire victims this year, and this day is a great opportunity to give back to these workers. Get involved in Can Give Day and donate to the Canberra Hospital Foundation at https://www.canberrahospitalfoundation.org.au/belifegiving

01.01.2022 Recently, the International Labour Organisation adopted a ground-breaking Convention, ILO C190, recognising the right of every worker across the world to a workplace free from violence and harassment. If ratified, the convention will place clear obligations on governments and employers to take steps to make this happen. Throughout our 16 Days of Activism, we will be asking you to sign and share our petition calling on the Federal Government to act on the convention, and recog...nise every worker’s right to be free from all forms of violence and harassment at work.
