21.01.2022 Annnnd we’re back folks! After a soft opening last week serving just Netballers & Footballers we’re finally open again to the public from 6PM THIS THURSDAY. Bar open with Curries & Rice or Nugget & Chip Combos for dinner. Full meal selections likely back next week. Get up and support the clubs!

21.01.2022 Remember to save the date for this one! Held at the Rec Ground and should be a great day. All the clubs are supporting it with kids games, live music, stalls and a visit from Santa

19.01.2022 WORLD EXCLUSIVE!! After months of hard work we’ve proudly partnered with Centina and can show you the first glimpse of what we’ll be delivering early next year. Centina have been an incredible find for us and their passion for this community project is only matched by our own. Currently in for council approval, this building will be situated behind the clubroom on the fence line. It will allow us to keep the artificial grassed area but also be in a position that keeps a conn...ection to the main clubroom (in particular once some inside renovations are done, more news to come on this front in the coming weeks). Key Features; * A Sound Proof Operable Wall - allowing for seperate change rooms on game day and a huge space at trainings, etc * High quality finished wet areas with tiled floors and walls * Rubber Flooring able to take boots and weights, etc * High Ceilings - up to 3.6m * Seperate & Private Trainers/Medical rooms * Two small change rooms on the Northern End allowing for a female umpires room and/or Netball change rooms when football is home * Quality finishes inside and out with IBCG colour scheme throughout to give this building character and make it our own. As we mentioned, there will be more announcements on further upgrades upcoming but for now be excited about this fabulous facility that will transform our clubs.

18.01.2022 WOW!! We’ve already received nearly $1,000 in individual donations since going public with our campaign. Thanks so much to everyone who’s donated! Look at the exciting progress already undertaken on Stage One. Find out more & donate here https://cgibrg.wixsite.com/cgibrg

18.01.2022 REMEMBER THIS SATURDAY!! Perfect weather forecast and should be some cracking games

17.01.2022 NEW WINE SPONSOR!! They say it’s all about who you know and that couldn’t be truer here. After our last winery ‘insider’ moved on, we’ve been able to secure sponsorship from some of Ironbank’s very own at Salena Estate Wines . They’ve just launched their new #GenS label and have been kind enough to give us a great deal. We’ll have 8 varieties available at the Main Bar from Saturday night onwards so try a glass and then support our friends and buy a bottle!

17.01.2022 Meet Lieutenant Mike Rave! He’s that bloody old he served in ‘Nam and yet he’s still serving us up at the Rec Ground. I know Di is pretty keen to get a new recruit into the kitchen so let’s send in some reinforcements (that means cash by the way) Donate here: https://asf.org.au/donate/clubroom-upgrade/... 17.01.2022 To All Thunderers and Members of the Ironbank and Cherry Gardens Community, I was meant to be bringing a brief message at the Commemoration on Anzac Day at the ...Cherry Gardens Soldiers Memorial Park. In lieu of this Event being cancelled I have put together a Video Reflection. It is specific for the Football Club but may have wider appeal. It goes for 9 minutes. With respect, Brandon Chaplin (Club President) https://vimeo.com/410893719

07.01.2022 BIG NEWS! After the disappointment we’ve faced over the last 12 months, we can happily say today is an amazing day in the history of the Rec Ground. Today we were awarded $255,000 by Minister Wingard from the State Government to go towards new changerooms facilities. We also have an agreement in place with the City of Onkaparinga council to match that amount meaning we are armed with $510,000 to give the community the facilities they deserve like those in the photos. Massive thanks must go to the State Government & City of Onkaparing Council plus all those who worked tirelessly to gain this funding in particular MP Steve Murray & our own Don Watton.

07.01.2022 $6 million. 12 projects. Hundreds of happy campers! This wasn't the most conventional way of breaking the news but it had just as much meaning. Our Grassroots ...Football, Cricket and Netball Facility Program is forging ahead despite the difficult times we find ourselves in. Our $6 million investment will contribute to more than $27 million in project value for local sporting communtities. Thanks to SANFL, South Australian Cricket Association, Netball SA and SA Recreation and Sport for the worthy recommendations. And Round 3 is open now!

06.01.2022 We’re not asking for any saviours, just hoping that everyone who loves the club can chip in to help us out! Most of us waste $25 on silly things every week. Donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE and it takes less than 2 mins to do! https://asf.org.au/donate/clubroom-upgrade/

05.01.2022 CRACKER’S CUP 2020! $5k RAISED! Amazing day, great crowd, great community spirit and a couple of great games. Well done to the Women’s Footy team & Cricket Club on their victories. Biggest victory of all was raising over $5,000 for the two local CFS brigades Well done to Skye, Tegan, Max, Angus & co. for organising & the all those who kindly donated

04.01.2022 You might have noticed a change to the building in the last few weeks. Thanks to a SA Govt Solar Grant we’re ‘on the grid’ All part of the improving of the clubroom . Read more here https://cgibrg.wixsite.com/cgibrg

04.01.2022 BOOK IT IN YOUR DIARY! Big day for the Footy & Netball

02.01.2022 It seems our little ground has been making headlines of late. Short version; We applied for a Federal Grant for new Female Friendly Changeroom facilities but were unsuccessful. It has recently been revealed that our grant received one of the highest merit scores in the nation (94 out of 100) while other grants with scores of 50 or below received funding. ... Our Comments; If the allegations are true, it is incredibly frustrating & disappointing to all our volunteers and members to know our facility was adjudged to be deserving yet has not received funding. It took our volunteer committee members an enormous amount of time to meet with stakeholders and write the application, not to mention the time spent on several grants since. We continue to remain hopeful that our current applications before both the State Government & Local council will be looked upon favourably. We also hope that the Federal Government continues with these grant programs into the future as they are the lifeblood of clubs like us

01.01.2022 We’ve had too many great volunteers give too much to the grounds for too long. They’re the reason we’re still alive but we’ve got to give them a break. From this week’s Adelaide Hills Courier https://cgibrg.wixsite.com/cgibrg

01.01.2022 This time next year we’ll be getting ready for Footy & Netball in brand new changerooms!
