15.01.2022 well done Kangaroo Island

14.01.2022 Special thanks to Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Adelaide SAF1 for conducting our marine radio operators course here at the Squadron today.

12.01.2022 It’s with great sadness that we share the news that our dear friend and colleague Nikki Latham, known to many as the voice of Coastguard Radio, has passed away ...on Sunday evening after a short illness. As a Senior Radio Operator Nikki dedicated 15 years to making sure boaties were safe on the water, through her unflappable demeanour and quiet, calm confidence. She has been involved in literally thousands of incidents and just a couple of years ago took her 100,000th Trip Report -- a huge milestone for Coastguard, let alone a sole RO. Nikki, there is no doubt of the footprints you have left in the sand and the role you have played in saving lives at sea. "Raise those sails and set a course for the wide, open ocean, where the stars burn so brightly. Fair winds and following seas." Your friends and loved ones at Coastguard.

We ask for your cooperation in adhering to the restrictions to provide the best opportunity to bring the current COVID-19 situation under control, and allow the resumption of business as usual activities as soon as possible. Keep safe all.

04.01.2022 THANK YOU RECREATIONAL BOATERS So pleasing that we haven’t had one call for assistance since the ‘lock down’ restrictions were imposed and its great to see ever...yone doing the right thing. As the restrictions are relaxed from midnight tonight we expect that you’ll be keen to get out on the water. To ensure you have a safe trip, don’t forget to: - follow remaining COVID-19 restrictions, maintain social distancing and personal hygiene - make sure you have all of the required safety equipment and it’s ‘in date’ - ensure your boat is prepared, especially your battery and fuel - check the weather forecast for your area of operation and keep an ear out for updates - let someone responsible know where you’re going, what time you intend to return and what to do if you haven’t checked in by a certain time - where possible, log on and off with your local VMR radio base - WEAR YOUR LIFE JACKET! Safe boating all.

02.01.2022 A great result.
