25.01.2022 Do you have an existing business website and want to expand to an e-commerce/online store ASAP? Are you experiencing a downturn in your walk-in trade and are located in the Wellington Shire? Do you have a restaurant and need an online ordering platform for your new takeaway store to make your process streamlined?... During the COVID 19 emergency, the Wellington Shire Council, in conjunction with Sale based webpage development company No Limit Web Services, is offering the opportunity to combine your existing website into an online store! Funding is strictly limited to add a shopfront/store to your own website, or to create a simple checkout system such as https://jackryanssale.com.au The store will be made for you as an add-on to your existing site, you will be trained on how to add your own products, it will be made secure and then setup and tested with your payment gateway of choice. Council will fund part payment of the initial setup fee of $750ex GST and you will offer a part payment of $250ex GST. After that, council will contribute the first months maintenance payment of $150ex GST, with you taking on the commitment for a further minimum of 11 months. For further information please contact Adam Collins at No Limit Web Services via e-mail [email protected] or phone on 0429513130. Please note that this does not include alterations to existing webpages such as redevelopment or structure, and is an add on to an existing website- the styling will be similar to your existing site, and any photos or wording will be provided by you.

19.01.2022 The Victorian Government has today launched a new QR code check-in system for businesses across the state. The QR code service will help venues, such as cafes, restaurants, and gyms, to keep records of who has visited the premises. Those details will help with contact tracing in the event of a coronavirus infection.... The Victorian Government has devised its own QR Code contact tracing app. Businesses are required to record the name and contact details of anyone who is on the premises for longer than 15 minutes. Business owners can download and display a poster with the QR code, which visitors then scan with their smartphone camera. https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/qrcode

19.01.2022 Central Gippsland Tourism is calling for nominations for the CGT Board. Central Gippsland Tourism works toward positive tourism outcomes through partnerships across the region and more broadly. Our core challenge is to drive region brand awareness, drive conversation and understanding of Central Gippsland’s key destinations and experiences to increase visitation and economic impact. To achieve our vision and perform our role, we are currently pursuing five priority areas:... - Maximise the reach of the region through alignment with the new Gippsland brand by making it central to all marketing activity - Maintain strong relationships and advocate for local operators whilst driving a collaborative, targeted marketing effort to enhance capabilities and reduce duplication. - Achieve greater digital marketing capability and effectiveness for Central Gippsland and the tourism industry - Inform and support the local tourism sector by providing media, research, imagery and marketing services to help partners achieve their marketing goals The Board is inviting those who believe they can add value to the group to submit a nomination by Wednesday November 18, 2020.

18.01.2022 Some big announcements regarding lock downs to the metro area that will obviously impact us here in Central Gippsland and support offered. NEW LOCKDOWN AREAS Nothing has changed locally. However, all Melbourne Council areas and Mitchell Council to the north of Melbourne are back in lockdown (this includes Mornington Peninsula, but not Geelong) for a further six weeks from tomorrow night (Wednesday, July 8). 16.01.2022 Yesterday we received the below from member for Gippsland East Tim Bull regarding upcoming announcements likely to have a big impact on the sector. Hi all, I just wanted to drop you a short line regarding the commentary provided by the Government today. Before I get into that, the next round of announcements on business restrictions will be made this weekend and we hope this will provide some more flexibility to the sector.... The clear message from today is that there is a clear onus on the hospitality related businesses to check the addresses of their customers when taking bookings (key points highlighted below). From midnight tonight, businesses that consciously fail to check their customers are not from metropolitan Melbourne facing fines of up to $9,913 (for the business). This check could be achieved by asking customers to show their drivers’ licence. I understand this will be a burden on some of our smaller operators with staffing. It is clearly a result of the recent Kilmore outbreak, where a man who was in the country for a legitimate reason, sat down in a café and several cases resulted. People from Melbourne are allowed in rural areas if it is for a permitted reason, but they bring their metro restriction level with them eg: no sitting down for meals or coffee, take away only. Regional businesses who do the right thing but are misled by someone intent on breaking the rules will not be fined under the changes. Instead, individuals found deliberately ignoring the restrictions will risk a fine of $1,652. Melbournians who are found in regional Victoria without a valid reason face fines of up to $4,957. There is a chance that next Sunday and Monday I will be out of range in the far east, so will either have my staff provide a business update to you, or if the changes are not significant, I will provide one on Tuesday. Best wishes, Tim Bull

10.01.2022 COVID-19 Restrictions Announcement Yesterday afternoon, Premier Daniel Andrews announced several changes to restrictions which were brought about by increased Covid-19 case numbers and advice from medical experts. It has been suggested that the rise in cases is largely driven by family get-togethers, where advice around distancing and hygiene have not been followed. Since the end of April, approximately half of our cases have come from transmission inside homes.... Therefore, from 11:59pm tonight (Sunday 21st June) updates will include: The number of visitors you can have at your home will reduce to 5 Outside the home, families and friends can meet in groups up to 10 Restaurants, pubs, community halls, museums, cinemas, theatres etc will be capped at 20 people in one space until 19 July and the four square metre rule remains in place The accommodation sector will see further announcements in the coming week with current details: Overnight stays permitted in private residences, subject to private gathering limits Overnight stays permitted in tourist accommodation, subject to group booking limit of 20 (Accommodation facilities including caravan parks, camping groups, hostels etc ) Booking limit of 20 people Communal facilities such as kitchens and bathrooms will be open School camps will be allowed to open as per advice last week Exemptions relating to use of accommodation where place of residence, for emergency purposes etc Screening and safeguards will be required at staffed caravan parks and camping grounds Cannot attend if ill or someone from home is ill Yesterdays announcement is incredibly disappointing for all of us, particularly as I know many of you have worked tirelessly to comply with obligations to provide a COVID-clean and safe environment for your visitors. There has been some discussion at State Government level about hotspots and exclusion areas. With this in mind, CGT remains committed to driving the industry message for our region and positioning ourselves with the best possible chance to be allocated an exemption due to our very low rate of infection and no active cases. If you have any queries regarding your specific requirements, contact the Business Victoria Hotline on 13 22 15. A note to our local MPs to throw your weight behind the request to exclude Central Gippsland from any restrictions moving forward would also be a huge help. 08.01.2022 Hospitality guidelines for reopening COVID-19 June 1st 2020 The Victorian Government, alongside National Cabinet, has started a process to ease the restrictions that were put in place to help slow the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The roadmap put forward by National Cabinet for this process allows each jurisdiction to decide which restrictions can be eased and when, based on public health advice and local circumstances. To appropriately manage the opening of facilitie...s and venues, operators will need to comply with a range of requirements specified in legal directions. The Victorian Government has announced that, from 11:59pm on 31 May 2020, cafes, restaurants and pubs can resume serving meals using table service only, for up to 20 customers at a time (a restaurant that has different dining areas/rooms may have up to 20 customers in each separate dining area, subject to density restrictions). Attached you will find a document that is intended to assist hospitality businesses to prepare to safely resume operations in accordance with the easing of restrictions. https://www.business.vic.gov.au//Hospitality-Industry-Guid
