05.01.2022 With the High Holydays this year going to look like no other, the RCV presents Project High Holy Days, a communal initiative which will bring the High Holy Days to you. In strict compliance with DHHS restrictions we are uniting as a community and creating opportunities to empower Melbourne Jewry to connect with our holiest days in mind, body and soul. Staying Apart but still being a part, Project High Holydays will unite and uplift Victorian Jewry. Projects include: - Hundr...eds of volunteer Shofar blowers will walk the suburbs of Melbourne to ensure that every Jewish person is able to hear the Shofar. - Easy to follow "DIY" videos will be created so you can participate from home in the many customs and traditions of Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur and Sukkot. - Unity events - Exciting Rosh Hashana themed activities for children - Fun and interactive cooking demos for families to enjoy while preparing for the festive meals. We hope that youll become a part of this wonderful initiative! Make sure to follow Project High Holydays for all the details and updates, or go to www.phh.org.au/whatson #highholydays #highholidays #livingthroughapandemic #covid19 #coronavirus #melbournelockdown See more

03.01.2022 Wednesday night and Thursday is Tisha Baav (the 9th day of the hebrew month of Av). It is the saddest day on the Jewish calendar, on which we fast, deprive ourselves and pray as we commemorate the destruction of the holy Temple amongst other historical tragedies that befell the Jewish nation including both World Wars. Join us to mark the day and watch this powerful and inspiring film. www.chabadoncarlisle.com.au/virtual
