23.01.2022 Oaks Day attracts floaty and floral looks with amazing hats, and our care recipients had a bit of fun with some millinery couture, and prizes to boot.

21.01.2022 Wow, What a day!! Just as we were ready to share with you information about Step Two, Premier Andrews announced that regional Victoria was moving to Step Three!! It's been a buzz at Chaffey today, and many care recipients are planning their excursions to see friends and family. We have posted detailed information on our website www.chaffeyagedcare.com.au, but we also wanted to share with you some key points here: 1. Care recipients can make plans to visit their loved ones, b...e it at an outdoor gathering or at a relatives house from Thursday 17th September. But we ask you to consider the restrictions and requirements of the household bubble. Care recipients will be required to complete contact information for each outing. 2. Admissions to the facility will be subject to a risk assessment for the management of Covid-19 transmission risks. 3. Unfortunately, we still aren't able to welcome visitors back into the facility under the care directions for residential aged care unless under exceptional circumstances. 4. There is still exclusion criteria from the facility, including if you have been in Stage Four Lockdown or identified 'Hot Spot' area in the last 14 days. 5. From Thursday 17th September, we will return to using our main entrance as access to and from the facility for care recipients and staff. Please be patient as we realign our systems and processes to accommodate these changes. Thank you to care recipients and the community for their unwavering support these last six months. Here is to looking forward to seeing what the new normal brings us, more information will follow in the coming days.

21.01.2022 Happy 100th Birthday Cecil. With a heart made of gold and a century’s worth of wisdom and experiences, our very own Cec celebrated his 100th birthday yesterday. Care recipients, staff, and brother Ab shared in Cecil’s incredible milestone with an exuberant rendition of Happy Birthday and a slice of celebratory sponge cake, with Cecil continuing his celebrations with an afternoon family event. Cecil wanted to thank everyone for helping him celebrate his special day, he enjoyed every minute of it.

18.01.2022 It is not the beauty of the building you should look at, it's the construction of the foundation that will stand the test of time. ~David Allan Coe This was certainly the case throughout the complete build of Generations Early Learning with our self-proclaimed foreman Fred who kept a good eye on the tradies and kept them in line from time to time #intergenerational

17.01.2022 This Sunday will see some big announcements from Premier Andrews about what the next stages of restrictions will look like for residential aged care. We think it's safe to say that all of our care recipients and families are hoping that it will see a return to some form of in-person visits. We want to thank all our families and the community for their support over the last six weeks and in fact the last six months! It hasn't always been easy, but we have always put the safety of care recipients at the forefront of the decision-making process, knowing that Covid-19 would and still could have a devastating impact. Our current restrictions will remain in place until the 13th September and we will communicate next week what changes come into effect after this date.

16.01.2022 Today at Chaffey, our care recipients and staff paused for Remembrance Day, to mark the 102nd anniversary of the armistice that ended the First World War on 11 November 1918 and to pay tribute to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Lest we forget. #WeRememberThem #RemembranceDay

13.01.2022 Finally, our SECRET can be revealed We would like to introduce you to Generations Early Learning. Chaffey Aged Care has just about completed its very own purpose-built intergenerational early learning centre. . Our residents in Wing 5 have had the privilege of watching the build from their windows and keeping us informed of the progress. Penny says She can’t wait to hear the children’s laughter and see them playing and having fun". Watch this space for exciting developments as we recruit, set up rooms, and open our doors in the not too distant future. Generations Early Learning

12.01.2022 Family, friends and fresh air were on the agenda today as care recipients celebrated the commencement of Step Three restrictions. This is Norma and her daughter Robyn showing us how social distancing and wearing masks is going to continue to keep everyone safe as we re-enter the community. To assist with administration and contact tracing, we are asking families to ring ahead of time to advise us of the planned outing and for care recipients to return by 6pm to the facility. You can call our administration team between 9am -5pm on 03 5025 1200.

05.01.2022 The journey towards covid normal is happening as we slowly start to reopen our doors and welcome visitors back to Chaffey. Whilst we await announcements in the next few days about the easing of restrictions, we must remain extremely cautious as there are still significant risks for our care recipients. This week, we welcomed Monash University lecturers Sam and Hanna, who took staff through a detailed training on donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment. Training such as this, testing of care recipients and staff, and our COVID Safe plan are all part of keeping everyone safe. We thank Monash University for making this training available to us, we will be sharing the knowledge learnt with the rest of our teams in the coming weeks and months ahead.
