24.01.2022 SOAR @ Leo Our very own class set of LEGO WeDO 2.0 has arrived!! - a fantastic addition to our coding & robotics (and engineering) program. On Monday Mr. Dickson launched LEGO WeDo 2.0 with the Year 3 students. WeDo 2.0 is a hands-on building activity that enhances students' curiosity and skills in computing and science with lots of problem solving and open-ended tasks. Year 3's had a wonderful afternoon experimenting with building and programming a range of different WeDo creations. We look forward to being able to use it lots next year!

23.01.2022 The fence at the Woorayl Lodge looked bright for Remembrance Day after students in Primary created poppies for decoration. Our students have been creating and sending in items for the residents during most of this year which has been bringing smiles to their faces. It was wonderful to receive letters to students in return.

22.01.2022 We are very excited to again be able to conduct family tours of our wonderful kindergarten facilities at Chairo Leongatha! Please help us spread the word to families that may be interested in checking out Chairo for three-year-old or four-year-old sessions. Tours need to occur outside kinder hours and certain restrictions and precautions will apply, but we'd love to hear from interested families!

21.01.2022 TEAR Read-A-Thon @ Chairo Leo The time has now come to finalise all donations as a school and send the money off to TEAR Australia. We are asking, where possible, for families to collect and submit all donations through the Chairo Christian School - Leongatha Campus donation page at https://readathon2020.tear.org.au/chairochristianschoolleon If this is not possible, please bring cash to the school office. As of 1.00pm today we have raised $2000 - 2/3 of the way to our goal!... Please finalise and submit all donations by Wednesday 2 December.

20.01.2022 Year 5/6 Phillip Island Camp Our Year 5/6 students are now getting ready to travel home after a fantastic time away at Phillip Island Adventure Resort. Canoeing, raft building, archery, giant swing - lots of great activities. Yet our students would probably tell you a highlight has been spending time together! More to come in our weekly newsletter.

16.01.2022 Celebration & Presentation Evening @ Chairo Leo After holding out in anticipation we were thrilled to be able to come together as a school community on Friday night to celebrate the year and make presentations to our fabulous students. Congratulations to students, teachers and parents on pivoting and improvising across the year to come out the end with such success! We are thankful to our God whose 'Love endures forever' and carries us in both the hard and good times! The night was just a bit different to normal...a truck for our stage (thanks Grations!), virtual high fives or salutes or 'jazz hands' rather than hand shakes and bright clothes for dance rather than uniforms. Picnic blankets, camping chairs, icecreams and picnic nibbles made for a very relaxed evening on a glorious night. A perfect way to celebrate 2020.

14.01.2022 Book Week @ Chairo Leo Hats & masks are in order during Term 4 this year - but they took on a whole new look today as part of Book Week. Our students (and parents) are very creative!

12.01.2022 World Teacher's Day A beautiful display of gifts, flowers, notes, cards, letters from our school community welcomed the teachers and aides last Friday. Special mention to a talented parent who presented the teachers a charcoal drawing of a picture that God gave her of our school. Thank you Jacqui. Thank you to all who send in items, they were all very much appreciated. The teachers & aides felt loved, it was a special day!

10.01.2022 After concluding her time at Chairo Leongatha at the end of Year 10, Amber continued her studies at Chairo Drouin, where she has completed Years 11 & 12. Enjoy hearing something of Amber's story and plans for the future!

07.01.2022 Yr 7 & 8 Th!nk Presentation Last night we had our first ever Online Th!nk Project Expo. It was a terrific evening showcasing the efforts of our Year 7 & 8 students through the year to prepare their project and also their online presentations. A big congratulations to all of our students and especially the winners of the following awards: Innovation Category - Samuel Ellen; Creativity Category - Elly-May Dunn; Sustainability Category & People's Choice Award - Caitlyn Dubois.

07.01.2022 SPREAD THE WORD: With the easing of restrictions, we're excited to again be able to conduct tours for families wanting to find out more about Kinder to Year 10 at Chairo Leongatha. Wendy is ready and waiting to make lots of bookings!

07.01.2022 A Call to Prayer on Thursday 8 October is a Christian Schools initiative. Representatives from CSA, CEN and St Andrews have been invited to pray specifically for our nation and leadership as a response to COVID-19 circumstances. Anyone interested in joining this short time of prayer is encouraged to do so if possible.

06.01.2022 Based on the latest government advice, we have unfortunately had to postpone our Discover Chairo Day scheduled for Saturday 10 October. However, interested families are still invited to make contact to find out more about Chairo, and to express interest in being contacted when family tours are again permitted (hopefully soon!). In the meantime, online tours are available by appointment by contacting the office.
