25.01.2022 This year marks the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. As the world welcomed peace, thousands returned home to much fanfare, and their loved o...nes. Thousands more never made the journey home. While we are unable to mark this year’s Remembrance Day by gathering together at the Shrine, you're invited to honour the memory of homecoming, reunion and sacrifice by joining the Shrine of Remembrance for an online commemorative broadcast at 10.45 am. The event will be live-streamed on the Shrine's Facebook and Youtube channels. Find out more: www.shrine.org.au/remembrance-day-2020

23.01.2022 With the help of a Woolworths Junior Landcare Grant, we have been able to establish raised garden beds within Junior School. Special thanks to Alltrim Civil for the generous donation of soil and to Fiona Driehuyzen for working behind the scenes to secure the grant. Through their involvement in this project, students will benefit from exposure to an outdoor learning environment and gain a hands-on understanding of gardening, sustainability and where their food comes from. This direct contact with nature grows students environmental awareness, as well as promoting stewardship and the development of lifelong skills.

22.01.2022 We are currently advertising for new staff members for various positions at different Chairo campuses. More information is available on the school website at: https://chairo.vic.edu.au/careers

21.01.2022 This year's Senior School house swimming carnival was another fantastic day at the Pakenham outdoor pool. It was pleasing to see students participating both in the pool and on the sidelines cheering for their house. A highlight of the day was the staff versus student relay! Knowles was voted the house with the most house spirit. Their cheering must have inspired their swimmers in the pool as they were also the overall winners of the day, followed by Hughes, Ballantyne and Noordermeer.

21.01.2022 We are currently advertising for various positions. Please help us spread the word if you know someone who may be interested in, and suitable for, any of the roles.

17.01.2022 Information has been shared with parents and guardians this morning via Linc News regarding how to report student attendance during the current lockdown. 16.01.2022 Many school events, including camps for students in Years 3 & 4, have not been possible this year. After months of remote learning, holding a combined 'virtual camp' was our answer to this problem. Students had an awesome two days and nights filled with exciting activities. They learnt about God’s amazing creation and creatures through online 'meet the keeper' sessions; made craft items; participated in a scavenger hunt, virtual escape rooms and a trivia night; enjoyed a live Colin Buchanan concert (via MS Teams); built their own cubbies and camping sites and finished off the camp with My Restaurant Rules, where they planned, prepared and served dinner for their families. Thank you to all our wonderful families and teachers for partnering to make this a memorable event for the students. COVID-19 will not stop us from having fun!

10.01.2022 A big three weeks have finally arrived for Year 12 VCE students sitting their final exams, with most getting underway with English this morning. It's been a challenging year and we now pray that they will go into each of their exams feeling calm, fresh and well-prepared. Lord, give all students good recall and use of time so they will know that they've performed to the best of their God-given ability, and help them to know that you've got everything under control.

07.01.2022 Any girls interested in playing football next season?

06.01.2022 Middle School students recently had a great day at the Pakenham outdoor pool for their annual house swimming carnival. It was really good to see participation from all houses but, in the end, it was Knowles who took home the pennant, followed by Ballantyne, Noordermeer and Hughes.

05.01.2022 Life has changed so much in the past one-hundred years, as our Years 3 and 4 students discovered during last week's history incursion. They played old-fashioned games like quoits and elastics, made sketches of flowers, read all about life for children who had to walk to school barefoot through the bush, and cooked and ate damper. Students also experienced the strictness of a schoolroom of yesteryear and tried to write neat copperplate with dipping pens and ink!

05.01.2022 The most important fact about the ATAR: Your ATAR does not define you. The ATAR is simply a tool used by tertiary institutions for a specific purpose: getting y...ou into a course. It doesn't reflect who you are, does not determine your capabilities and is not a measure of your worth. Remember, there is no pass or fail ATAR. In fact, to be eligible for an ATAR you must have already successfully completed the VCE. If your ATAR isn’t high enough to get you into your dream course, know that you have options. It’s worthwhile contacting the institution to discuss alternative pathways as there are often other pathways into your chosen course or field. There is plenty of support available if you need any help after receiving your ATAR. If you have any questions about your results, you can contact your school or the Post Results and ATAR Service (pras.resultsandatar.vic.edu.au). If you need any mental health support, you can access support on the phone or by chat/email at headspace , Kids Helpline Official, or Beyond Blue . When you receive your results tomorrow, remember to keep them in perspective. Celebrate your achievements and remember that your ATAR is just one of many tools for tertiary entrance, and doesn’t define who you are.

05.01.2022 Year 7 French students embarked on a project-based learning experience this semester with a focus on developing deep knowledge and understanding of food, personal food habits, attitudes, preferences and culture. The unit required them to research a French-speaking country and prepare a meal as part of their final assessment task. Teachers and other members of staff were whisked away to various parts of the world where they had the opportunity to savour delicious dishes prepared by students.

01.01.2022 What an amazing effort, especially during COVID-19 lockdowns, that we were able to fill 107 boxes for our Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child appeal this year. Thank you to everyone who donated, and to Mrs Dutlow who spent many hours after school ensuring that our boxes were correctly packed and delivered.
