04.01.2022 CAN OUR HORSES JUMP? You bet they can! Every horse in this album is a registered Australian Stock Horse carrying the Chalani prefix (bar one, which is by a Chalani horse - sorry it is a huge task keeping track of descendants of Chalani horses so we don't normally do it, but we'd love to hear if you have one.) Over the years we have used proven polo bloodlines, but also recognised the incredible influence of some traditional SA showjumping and eventing lines, which are till im...portant to this day. Bloodlines of Mikado, Idealiste, Waveney Goldbine remain in our stud. Further back we have the lines of other SA colonial "greats" - Comic Court, Carbine, St Anton, Matrice, Golden Ranger, Golden Flash, Grey Boy, Master Raeburn etc. We would like to see Tuatea in there but alas, I think this line has disappeared for good. These lines were around when Souvenir (Vic) and Black Panther (Vic) were making their mark and were just as good, in my opinion, though with less opportunity and recognition. We are regularly asked if our horses jump. They sure do - at high levels eventing and showjumping, in Challenges and ASH time-trial events, or with junior riders in Pony Club.
