23.01.2022 A few photos from a recent ram hogget classing with Bill Walker. They are frame and wool classing types with 4.5mths growth. Challara bred rams.

19.01.2022 This is to show the potential extreme wool length from a Challara bred ewe weaner. It has 6.5 months of wool growth. The photo was taken recently of a random better ewe weaner while drenching them onto a lupin stubble.

13.01.2022 Thanks for your post Bill! It was an enjoyable 3 days classing with some exciting type of Merinos in the top group. The length, density, style and type of sheep is really starting to reach a new level.... Our Challara Ram Sale team was sorted out today and we are very pleased with our standard. Photos and videos were also taken for Auctions Plus.

13.01.2022 It was taken a few days ago in between giving them a Zolvix worm drench, Ruminant and Nutrimol mineral drench before moving them to a lupin stubble. They are mainly May drop (6 months growth) and mostly over 40kg.

08.01.2022 This is one of 2 top Challara rams chosen to be offered at the upcoming Classic Ram Sale at Murray Bridge in South Australia on Monday, September 2nd. It was a Big drive yesterday, delivering the 2 rams to a long distance truck driver at Newdegate. Now, the boys are off to South Australia to get ready for the sale. They are both sons of Terrick West 160191 (Big John) who Challara bought at the... 2017 Classic Sale. The dual purpose traits from his progeny are very encouraging. See more

07.01.2022 This is a photo to show an example of the depth of genetics at Challara. It is lambs from a flock wool ewe mob just before lamb marking.

06.01.2022 Last Friday, Badgingarra held its first ewe hogget competition in many years. There were 8 commercial wool growers visited on the day. The judge was Wayne Button from Mununda Poll Merino Stud. Congratulations must go to long term client, Andrew Kenny, who won the long wool section with an even line of sheep with very good quality wools. Well Done also to long term clients Matt Taylor, who won the short wool section and Dennis Martin, who won the maternal section.

04.01.2022 Below is a recent photo of a Challara stud ewe weaner.

03.01.2022 If you like what you see on the Challara Facebook page, please spread the word. Our Ram Sale result indicates sheep producers are not willing to accept or be aware of our genetic improvement and quality. We need some encouragement for breeding plain, profitable and productive Poll Merinos into the future.... We can’t control unforeseen events of this year.

02.01.2022 Just giving clarity to the last 2 wool photos I shared on Facebook this morning. This will make it easier on the eye. Challara ram hgts at 4.5mths wool growth. Challara bred and classed by Bill Walker recently. Sorry for my lack tech skills.
