We are very pleased to advise that both Premier Grade and A grade have been accepted as Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) events for the upcoming IS...LTA JB Saturday Summer Morning Comp that starts on Saturday 17th October. Other grades will follow in due course though we encourage all players to register now for your UTR, especially if considering playing tournaments. What is a UTR? UTR is a GLOBAL rating system supported by Tennis Australia that provides a single, objective, consistent and accurate measurement of skill level for tennis players for all ages, geographies and gender. A player’s UTR is a number between 1.00 and 16.50. FYI, Roger Federer's UTR is 15.71 and Naomi Osaka's is 13.22. One match result is all it takes to receive a projected UTR. After approximately five (5) matches, the rating becomes fully reliable. A player’s UTR is the weighted average of up to 30 of their most recent match ratings, with the matches played within the last 12 months counting toward a player’s UTR. Players having a UTR will assist Junior Branch in grading accurately and also to run tournaments. It will also ensure players are matched up to play opponents of a similar rating and therefore standard. How do I create a UTR? If you haven’t already registered, visit the MyUTR.com website to create an account and activate your profile. If you have played Interdistrict or a tournament including JDS, you will already have a UTR and profile that you can activate after you register, Just click ‘this is me’ when your name and your latest result appears. What is the cost of registering for a UTR? It is FREE and is recommended by Tennis Australia! When do I need to register for my UTR for Saturday Morning Comp by? You will need to register and notify ISLTA JB by no later than Friday 9th October 2020. What do I do once I have registered?
