17.01.2022 With minimal equipment available, single variations are a great option. Body weight squats - although a great exercise - are often not challenging enough. With a sliding pad underneath my rear foot, this variation is somewhat of a hybrid of a lunge and a single leg squat. You don’t need a weight for this exercise, and if you don’t have a sliding pad, you can always use a towel or a pillowcase. #isolationexercises

13.01.2022 It’s Party Trick Friday What’s the point of this exercise? Nothing. What’s it training? Mostly my ego. Should you try it? No. ... Instagram is filled with exercises like this. It looks cool, but it’s pointless. Good training is a ruthless execution of the basics. Master the squat, hip hinge, lunge, push, pull and carry.

02.01.2022 The box jump. Box jumps can be used to develop lower body power - great for running and jumping. However, the height of the box is not a challenge to overcome or be beaten. The box is there to absorb your landing. Jumping off the box removes this soft landing and causes high impact loading to your knees, ankles and Achilles. MUCC fast bowler @jimmyb444 has recently had these added to his training, and demonstrates excellent technique. #boxjumps
