Without a doubt, the digital economy is transforming the world of work and we’ve seen evidence of that in the expansion in broadband connectivity, data and cloud computing The consequences of the pandemic forced remote working environments which has further highlighted the growth and impact of the digital economy as it allowed the continuation of many business activities However, it has also reinforced the growing digital divide within and across developed and developing countries There is a need to overcome this digital divide and this has never been more apparent then right now Without access to internet, communities are left stranded with less or no information about the pandemic or how to handle it
