25.01.2022 A common situation with many of us. I was guilty and now carry my Curiosity hat with me every where I go. If only the President of the USA could master this.

24.01.2022 Great quote! Keeping this one on file

24.01.2022 I am a recovering insomniac. Years ago I would go night after night surviving on 2 or 3 hours sleep and then struggle through the day feeling tired and wired. I go to bed now knowing that I will get at least 5 - 6 hours most nights and my world is a much better place and I suspect I am a much nicer person for it!

22.01.2022 Great messages here from my teacher & mentor. I love this work so much, I have never had so much fun!

20.01.2022 It's been a big week, a bit tricky, challenging for some with quite a lot of aha moments thrown in for good measure. These Pooh spots hit the spot as the weekend slides on in.

20.01.2022 I used to listen to be ready to speak and would interrupt with my ideas or comments or I was mentally validating my assumptions about the person or the issue. Don't underestimate the power of listening to connect. Sometimes my clients will say they have just had an awesome coaching session with me and all I have done is listen and ask a couple of questions to tease out a comment or thought.

19.01.2022 This is Tricia's space and I highly recommend you connect with her if you have wanted to learn or improve these skills. You will succeed and you will feel invincible.

17.01.2022 I have been working with a client teasing out their engagement strategy to ensure that all the new people they will be employing for projects across the globe are a good culture fit for the organisation and their clients. A big part of that strategy revolves around recognising and appreciating the work of teams and individuals across the whole company. The power of Appreciation goes a long way - don't underestimate it.

17.01.2022 I celebrate debate and differing views but sometimes the harsh negative comments need to stop to let the alternate view be heard. Watch this video to hear the local community express their point of view and passion for Hutt St.

13.01.2022 They're singing my song! I have just run two sessions for a client as they explore with the whole organisation how to create the best environment to test new ideas, being curious & comfortable in questioning what it is they do and if the ideas are as strong as they could be. We are building the foundations, based on TRUST, CURIOSITY AND RESPECT. We have put some success measures in place coming from a base level determined by the Discovery work we have just done.

13.01.2022 Conversational Intelligence - the skills of we use in this work plus 20 curiosity questions for you to use straight away. Its easy and it works!!

11.01.2022 Nominate the business leaders you think should be recognised in this InDaily award program.

11.01.2022 Love this quote.

11.01.2022 Get ready it's almost Easter.

10.01.2022 Ever noticed how it seems that totally relevant 'things' magically appear when you need them. Today I am focusing on the key priorities for my business in 2018. This piece by Seth Godin was top of my news feed just now and has highlighted that 'what I will do is important' but equally or more importantly I need to think about 'What I Wont Do'. Perfect timing!

08.01.2022 This is fun - I love how our brains work.

07.01.2022 I'm not back at work until January 8th though this week I am working and working quite passionately. I am focusing on my business 'Challenging Thinking' and have returned to this article 'The Crossroads of Should & Must' by Elle Luna. I am evaluating my 'Musts' for 2018 - the reasons I do what I do and the things I need to action to do more of the coaching and facilitation work I love to do, the work that makes a difference to the organisations and clients I have the privil...ege of working with. The things that get in the way of me reaching out to connect with more people and organisations are generally one of two things - 1. ) I fall for the trap of reverting to doing the things I 'should do' and 2.) the whispering of my 'Inner Critic' who loves to tell me that maybe I am not 'good enough'. Logically I know that I am more than good enough and have just given my Inner Critic the flick for the week and maybe even all of 2018. I recommend that if you too are about to do some strategic thinking about the important work, things and projects you absolutely Must do then read this article and commit to spending some time defining your path for the year ahead.

05.01.2022 So incredibly true. Note to self - look at map!!

03.01.2022 This is a great article on conducting your own Leadership audit. I particularly connect with numbers 7 & 13. They are two that I see as common challenges for many leaders and their teams. Rate yourself out of 5 for each of the Questions and then get your colleagues to rate you as well. I will be interested in hearing how you scored. This is also something you can use as topics with your mentor or coach. They are certainly some of my top topics with my clients.

03.01.2022 Its that time of year so pack up your work, put it in a box ' marked January' hide it and focus on great times connecting with family and friends.

02.01.2022 I posted yesterday saying I am spending this week focusing on my business concentrating on the things I 'Must' Do rather than 'Should' Do. (I should do my personal tax but it doesn't rate as a 'Must' so wont be done this week) This HBR article caught my attention and I particularly like the reference to 'Roseanne Haggerty - Social Activist; when she described her organisations approach to a major project as being "...inherently limited'. We had to blow ourselves up which was brutally difficult & absolutely necessary". Sometimes that is exactly what has to be done.
