09.01.2022 Well the pear season is a few weeks earlier than last year, with the majority of picking completed and its not even the end of February! This week we had approximately 20,000kg of pears picked each day, now in cold storage ready to hit the markets :) My tip is get in and grab some fresh crisp Duchess pears from your green grocer, slice these thinly, add 4 cups of fresh rocket, 2 tbs of pine nuts, 50-100 g of blue vein cheese, salt and pepper to taste. Mix well, add a drizzle of balsamic glaze and a dash of extra virgin olive oil and serve with the rest of the BBQ on these hot summer nights :)
