22.01.2022 No Fireworks in Apollo Bay TONIGHT. No Fireworks in Apollo Bay TONIGHT.

21.01.2022 Thank you Apollo Bay, you're amazing. From Lisa Jayne Deppler kicking off the conversation we now have a sign and video welcoming people back to Melbourne. We're asking for your help to get them out there. Photos of the sign and the video have been doing very well on social media. Feedback from traumatised and exhausted Melbournians has been happiness and relief to hear a welcoming voice. Sadly it is clear that not all regional areas are extending such welcome. The Chamber of... Commerce wants visitors to know that we are open, that we appreciate the sacrifices that have been made and that they are genuinely welcome here. Copies of the video and a photo are available on our website for everyone to download and use. If as many people as possible share the images we can spread the word as widely as possible and hopefully build this into a lovely little grassroots campaign. Please click on the link below which will take you to more information on our website. Thanks to Peter Bourne (sign writing) and Tiphaine DeFleurette Brown / Floreo Creative (video)

21.01.2022 The Apollo Bay Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the lighting of the Christmas Tree lights this Saturday the 28th of November. We're still not able to have a formal event but we have been able to facilitate some Covid safe happenings. First up, the Apollo Bay Community Market will be running a dusk market from 6.30 to dark. We can't think of a more lovely or festive way to buy local support and small businesses this Christmas. From 8pm, WildHoney Performing Arts wil...l take to the streets with a roving, illuminated performance inspired by French street theatre. "The Illuminates" references giant celestial lanterns and larger than life moon people, weaving starlight on a sea of dreams. And of course at 8pm the lights themselves will be lit, shining out festive cheer as we mark the end of 2020. The biggest of all thanks go out to Jamie and Penny Pickett from the foreshore carnival for supporting this. We've done the paperwork to make sure you can bring a bottle of bubbles or a couple of cold ones down to the foreshore, so why not support local hospitality by grabbing some takeaway and settling in for a picnic. The Chamber would like to thank Colac Otway Shire Council for its funding support and for helping us deliver this happening in a Covid safe way. Please remember to keep moving, keep your distance and keep a mask handy at all times.
