24.01.2022 Do we adapt the exercise to the rider or the rider to the exercise? Here are a few of my thoughts... https://www.chameleoncoaching.com.au/bl/september-17th-2020

22.01.2022 Hey Guys, It's so important to focus on what you CAN control during this time. Uncertainty breeds anxiety so it is important to find things that we can be certain about. What can I achieve today?... What is something I can do today that excites me? A project, learning something new, cleaning out an area of the house that has been bothering me for months What is still helping me grow physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually? We may not have much control of the external world outside of our home but we DO in our own space, both internal and external. Come together, and join with us, so we can support and inspire each other connecting to the joy in life. HORSEMANSHIP, Mindset, Horse Health & Support Community . Mission: To join together as an industry to bring support and fun into the homes of 10,000 horse owners during this isolation time. That our horses can give to people so much emotional & physical support during this time, and we, as leaders in our industry can be the shining example of community, of entertainment, of education and support with us joining together at this time. A facebook group where we can come with no financial output or agenda, but that we can be a face for the horsemanship community across the globe. Joining together with other trainers, different disciplines, horse health, care and helping humans to continue their equine sports at home and with mindset support to help them focus at this time or just plain good ole entertainment. We see the music industry joining together to create concerts online, the theatres in broadway joining together, I foresee this will be a great opportunity for our Equine Community to join together too. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2522635957841594/about/

13.01.2022 Ever had one of those shows where you seem to be anxious the whole time? You know this competition is important and you want to do well, but the nerves are getting worse. You feel sick and you can't think straight. It's tough, I get it.... In the past I've tried to block out or hold in uncomfortable emotions, but that only caused me to experience panic attacks, or avoid doing things I love that also make me nervous This led me to really reconsider how I deal with stress, and it's been a real journey as I learn to improve how I respond under pressure. I have found several techniques that work, both for myself and for my clients Some great tools are: breathwork gratitude meditation exercise time to recharge When I'm in the heat of the moment, I like to take a minute and practice some breathwork to help regulate whatever fight or flight response has been activated. I also look at what I can control and focus on, and where my awareness needs to be in the moment. Meditation, visualisations, exercise and time to recharge are a regular part of my daily routine so that when things go pear shaped I am able stay focussed on where I am heading. When you're in the heat of the moment and feel yourself getting worked up, I really encourage you to try some of the techniques and strategies I show you in my blog. http://www.chameleoncoaching.com.au//managing-pre-competit After a while, these become automatic and you'll find yourself able to stay calm and measured no matter what you're facing. Let me know if you give any of these strategies a try, I'd love to see how it works for you.

12.01.2022 Hi all, Due to the rather interesting place we all find ourselves in at the moment I have decided it best to cancel this weekends "Jumping with confidence Clinic" As much as I love spending time with you all, I feel it is the time to do the right thing and keep each other safe. I will let everyone know as soon as we are back in action for lessons, clinics and other horsey activities.... In the meantime I have joined forces with Horsewyse magazine and together we have created an online learning programme for riders aged 15yrs and under. Keep a look out for more information. Stay well, continue to have fun with your horses and I look forward to seeing you all out and about soon. I am always available if you have any questions or would like some support. I'm just a phone call or email away. Annyka Overton xxx

11.01.2022 The dominoe effec5

11.01.2022 So many times at night I wonder "How am I going to get through tomorrow?". Then I ask myself... what do I need to do to get through tomorrow? Tomorrow is leading me towards a future that I desire. Before I get there it looks daunting, out of my comfort zone and quite frankly I'm just not sure how I will make it work. There just seems so much to do. I want to be in so many places at once, and am currently juggling plenty of balls. I have so many big dreams. I'm excited, I'm anxious, I'm exhausted and so conscious of the fact that every inch forward is a good thing. Inches... I got through tomorrow yesterday, and I will get through today by tomorrow. I love this and yet it drives me to challenge everything thing I believe about myself. Far out... continual improvement is not an easy task lol

05.01.2022 Matching and Mirroring A handy technique to have in your tool box. I use many different techniques to get the best out of horses and humans as not one works in every situation, but this one seems to be coming up a fair bit so I thought I’d share it. It’s not for situations where there is high emotion, especially anger but it is a great one for drawing out the gold! Have you even been walking along totally engaged in a conversation with someone, and when they stop, you stop an...Continue reading
