22.01.2022 Last week some of our Year 7 and 8 students enjoyed a morning fishing at the Marina, thanks to the volunteers with the Fishabilities program. Every student caught at least one fish! Students were also treated to a sausage sizzle. Thank you to our wonderful EAs who accompanied our students, and an extra special mention to Paula Stacey who organised the excursion.



22.01.2022 NAIDOC 2020 Always was, Always will be SHINE celebrated NAIDOC week with a few special people in our community.... On Tuesday our SHIMMER and SHINE girls received a special invitation to the Geraldton Police Station for NAIDOC 2020 celebrations. The SHINE girls were asked to do their famous face paintings and they felt so privileged to be invited. Thursday we had a surprise special guest for the SHINE girls, Charmaine Papertalk Green. Charmaine spoke about her story and read her National Award winning poetry. Charmaine is an amazing, respected, talented and inspiring lady who was open and honest about her journey and history to the girls. The SHINE girls were all gifted a copy of her book, Nganajungu Yagu. We would like to thank Charmaine for coming to visit us. To end our week we look forward to witnessing some of Geraldton’s young and talented girls tonight at the 2020 Yamaji Girls finale.

15.01.2022 Students at CBSHS competed in the Education Perfect Maths Championships 2020 from Tuesday 1 - Tuesday 8 September. Schools across the world competed against each other online, answering as many maths questions as possible to earn points for themselves and their school. CBSHS students answered 91,186 questions and spent 255 hours demonstrating their mathematical abilities.... Through the hard work of our students, CBSHS ranked 5th in the state and 1st in the state against schools with 501-1000 students. Our top two students earnt over 9000 points each and will receive emerald awards for their efforts, while 25 students in total will receive certificates for their individual results. Well done team Champion Bay, an amazing effort by all those who participated! 15.01.2022 HelpingMinds have two fun packed, three day holiday programs planned for the school holidays. Week 1 is three days of fun for ages 8 11, Week 2 is for the older group ages 12 15.

14.01.2022 On Saturday, the CBSHS Follow the Dream students, their families and supporters attended the Follow the Dream End of Year Celebration lunch. It was a celebration for another year full of challenges, hard work and some pretty impressive achievements. #respect #aspire #resilience

14.01.2022 Second round of the Inter-Regional Debating competition occurred on Wednesday 2nd September. In the Novice division we had one win and a loss; by one point. The educational growth of our students at the end of each round is inspiring. Our Junior team had to debate against the adjudicator (a very experience debater) because of a forfeit. The adjudicator was impressed with their debating skills and outstanding arguments. #respect #aspire #resilience

06.01.2022 Provide First Aid Course In the last week of this term, 17 x Yr 7-9 Follow the Dream students from Champion Bay and Geraldton Senior High Schools participated in a Provide First Aid course. The students put in a huge effort with over 6 hours of online training and a whole day face-to-face training. A big congratulations to all for an outstanding achievement in passing and receiving their Certificate.

03.01.2022 Champion Bay Team 2 made it into the Grand finale and they argued valiantly but lost the battle. However, every student who participated in the Western Australian Debating League Inter- Regional Competition gained valuable skills in public speaking, and this makes them all winners. #respect #aspire #resilience

02.01.2022 CHAMPIONS ON THE BAY On Friday, our Year 11 students started the day with their Celebration Assembly, which included award presentations and announcing our Year 12 Student Leadership Team. In the evening, our students put on their best outfits and attended the first Champion Bay Senior High School Year 11 Harbour Cruise, hosted by Abrolhos Adventures. Their staff were incredibly complimentary of our students for their manners and enthusiasm to have a good time. ...
