23.01.2022 A shark ADVICE has been issued due to a whale carcass that has come aground on an offshore reef near Separation Point. The whale carcass is stuck on a shall...ow reef platform approximately four to five hundred metres offshore, west of the Separation Point lookout. Fisheries Officers have attended and observed that it is stuck inside the shallow reef platform and with very low swell conditions is likely to remain until sea conditions change. Please take additional caution in the Separation Point area. Fisheries officers, along with staff from other agencies are monitoring the situation and will provide updates.

19.01.2022 WOOSIDE NIPPER NEWS. As announced last week, we will be at Glendenning Beach this week, checking out some different conditions. We will be setting up trailers etc in Glendenning park and will need a bit of help getting the gear onto the beach. Please carry a board or two across ... and back. PATROL will operate as normal at Champion Beach.

11.01.2022 FRIDAY December 4. SURF LIFE SAVING WA Street Appeal. We will be collecting in the mall and at the Post Office from 8am to 4pm If you have some free time, drop by & give our small team a break. SUNDAY December 6.... We are hosting a MIDWEST CARNIVAL, with Dongara & Geraldton clubs joining us for the morning. This is an introductory/fun carnival and everyone is encouraged to take part. Woodside Nippers need to arrive by 8:30. They must wear their Woodside vest. Club caps will be loaned for the carnival. Club bathers are preferred but not essential. Under 6 & 7 will not compete, but will be joined by the tinies from the other clubs. Parents. Extra help will be needed for the morning. Set up crew from 6:30am, marshalls, finish judges, scorers, BBQ helpers, pack-up crew Please lend a hand, many of our regular volunteers are also our qualified water safety and patrolling members multi-tasking. 09.01.2022 Only 3 days 'til our 24hour Swim Challenge starts. Entries are still open, and will be taken on the beach over the weekend. Event runs midday Saturday to midday Sunday. NIPPERS are encouraged to come down for a swim in one of our ENTICER timeslots. Saturday 1-3pm, Saturday Night 7-8pm (must be accompanied), Sunday 9am-12noon. 05.01.2022 WOODSIDE NIPPERS Sorry for the late posting.. We have been monitoring the situation carefully and were hopeful that we could continue Nippers. However being mindful of pressures placed on our volunteers, compliance with regulations for workers in essential industries, recent heightened public gathering restrictions and inability to guarantee effective control over social distancing in a public arena - we will have to declare Champion Bay Nippers done for the season. Thanks to our families for the vibrancy on the beach on Sunday mornings - It's been great. Stay safe and we'll be in touch as things develop.

04.01.2022 WOODSIDE NIPPER NEWS We had planned to present the 2019-20 awards on Nov 8, but cancelling Nov 1 sees us with Woodside Packs still to distribute. Presentations will now be on Nov 15 at 10am. Packs available this Sunday are for Woodside Nippers registered and paid by midday Nov 7. PATROL NEWS. Skills maintenance (requals) will commence this Sunday, 10:30am. Please make sure you are registered or we can't process your paperwork.

03.01.2022 A huge thank you to many involved in yesterday’s search including Midwest Ports, Geraldton Surf Life saving, Champion Bay Surf Life Saving, Midwest Gascoyne po...lice, Fremantle Water Police and Diving team, Private vessels including - Ernie & Barry, Marine Rescue Kalbarri and our volunteers on and off the water. Apologies if we missed anyone. Another challenging day ahead. Tomorrow will continue with searching, police divers will have us busy all day.

02.01.2022 Missed our Rego Day? It's not too late! You can join or renew at https://sls.com.au/join/ Queries? [email protected] Our Woodside Nipper programme aims to make kids comfortable and safe at the beach.... They run in age groups and learn age appropriate techniques and skills through games, activities and sports. Our under 6s (Must be 5 by 1 Oct, 2020) and under 7s must be accompanied at all times, including in the water. Our season runs from October 25 to the end of March, with a 2 week break for Xmas/New Year. We run Sunday mornings, 9 to about 10:30 depending on conditions. Fees are $150 for your first child, which includes 1 adult. $75 for each extra family member. (So $225 for 21 weeks for 2 kids) We are a Kidsport Club. Club bathers are available, but not essential.
