25.01.2022 Olivia is one of our Chances Scholarship recipients. From the moment we met her, we were struck by Olivia’s determination to work hard and not give up on her dreams, no matter how far out of reach they may have sometimes seemed to be. This is what Chances is all about helping young people in our region complete their education and create the future they want and deserve.

21.01.2022 We've put it off as long as we can but we've made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Chances for Children fundraising event ‘Chase the Steam’. Planning is already underway for a relaunch in 2021, so keep up the training. The ongoing COVID-19 crisis is having a significant impact on families in our region and now more than ever, we have young people in need of our help. Instead of paying your event entry fee this year, we would love you to make a donation to Chances. Every dollar we receive will go directly to a young person we support. https://www.givenow.com.au/malleechancesforchildren

20.01.2022 We would like to give a huge thank you to the Freemasons Foundation and the Swan Hill Lodge for donating $5000 to Chances for Children this week. The donation, which was made in memory of Peter Doig, is an investment in the future of our region. Thank you to Swan Hill Guardian for sharing the story.

12.01.2022 Did you know that Chances has a Scholarship program specifically designed to support young people to complete secondary school? The Keeping Kids at School Scholarship is currently supporting 34 young people in our region. Alana is one of those students and she has dreams of going to university and one day helping other people to live ‘better lives’. Her brother Daniel received the same Scholarship and he credits it with changing his life. He's now at university, studying a Ba...chelor of Dental Science (Honours, if you don't mind!) and he says without Chances, none of it would've been possible. Recipient Support Officer, Kim, couldn’t be more proud of this brother - sister duo, The investment Chances has made in Daniel and Alana will be returned tenfold. When you donate to Chances, you're giving young people a better tomorrow. https://www.givenow.com.au/malleechancesforchildren See more

11.01.2022 Our thoughts are with all our Chances Scholarship recipients right now. We understand how daunting the situation we are all confronting is, especially for students who might be away from home right now. Don't rely on social media for news about COVID-19, instead, for up to date and accurate information, visit the Australian Department of Health website - https://www.health.gov.au Take care of yourselves and look out for others. Below is a graphic that might help you understand the symptoms of the virus. Please share it. #togetherwecan

We will get through it. Meanwhile, stay connected to your friends and family. Go online. Make a phone call.

05.01.2022 From all of us, to all of you.

04.01.2022 During the Australia Day Awards ceremony in Swan Hill this week, Arlie Atkinson's 24 Hour Swim-a-thon was recognised as Community Event of the Year. For most people, year 12 takes up every spare moment but not for Arlie - she wanted to organise a major event to raise money for Chances for Children as well. What a dynamo! We congratulate Arlie on the Award, which is so well-deserved, she is an inspiration. #swanhill #australiadayaward #communityevent #communityspirit

02.01.2022 You've heard of 'Throwback Thursday' well this is 'Wind-back Wednesday'. Back in the early noughties, this little poppet was out and about collecting money for Chances for Children. The money in Tajska's bucket went towards helping young people in our region pursue their dreams. Two decades on, Chances is still helping kids complete their education and training and Tajska is chasing dreams of her own. A donation to Chances is an investment in the future. *Photo supplied by proud mum, Jodie Alderton
