25.01.2022 I just sent off this beautiful gallery last night, and thought instead of sharing a few pics, that I would share the whole thing with you and give you an example of what to expect when you book your own family shoot with me! I absolutely love when I get to see my final work in all it's glory like this!

24.01.2022 For day 4 of 5 with my lives, I battled with the lawn mower man for volume at times, but we got there! Talking about locations and helping you understand what I mean when I suggest shooting at sunrise and sunset I mention I’ll be going live at 6.45PM tomorrow to announce the winner of the giveaway - - - I failed to mention, this will take place on Insta, and I’ll share to FB closer to 8/9PM

24.01.2022 Hey heeeey! **Reminder: The GIVEAWAY is being drawn on Friday for a Mummy + Me shoot! Listen to the end to find out how to enter Back again, and today I’m chatting about what to wear and what not to wear! ... And the joy of going live, you can never predict what’s going to happen typical Mailman

23.01.2022 Daughter Always remember you are smarter than you think, stronger than you believe and more beautiful than you have ever imagined -unknown

23.01.2022 In case you missed it... Christmas Mini Sessions are in the planning - thinking October for session dates but possibly also a blossom sesh mid September? What are your thoughts? Either way be sure keep yourselves free and stay tuned for the release of them #perthfamilyphotographer

23.01.2022 The word is out and I'm so happy to be able to share that this little family of three is about to become FOUR @ Perth, Western Australia

21.01.2022 Tip No.138 Don't expect your kids to sit still whilst trying to take their portraits. Instead encourage them to move. Encourage them to be silly. Then you might start to see their true personality really shine through in your images. Oh and don't offer out your bribe until the session is completely over ... #perthfamilyphotographer See more

21.01.2022 What a year it has been for these two, they've brought together two families to make one and are preparing for another addition in a few short months - so why not sign the dotted line and make it 'official' with a few of their closest friends and family oceanside?!

21.01.2022 SPRING IS COMING and that means all the orchards will be blooming with pink and white blossoms I just discovered, I've been to the orchards more in autumn than what I have in spring, which is weird considering I'm more of a spring/summer kinda gal than the other way around, so these pics did have to come out of the archives from 3 years ago - none the less it's such a beautiful time of year to picnic and photograph your family and I look forward to heading back again this season #perthfamilyphotographer @ Perth, Western Australia

20.01.2022 With the launch of my mini sessions happening this week I thought I'd share some things that I look for when deciding on a location, so that you can go out and create your own little session too! First thing - LIGHT - I generally scope out my locations at the time of day I plan on shooting. I really want to get a good idea of how the light falls. I prefer the softer light which occurs at sunrise and sunset. It's easier to work with in editing and it stops the harsh black... shadows hiding those beautiful eyes too. There is nothing wrong with shooting closer to midday, but you will end up with a slightly different style of edit in your final image. Second thing - VARIETY - I LOVE locations where there is variety. The beach is an easy one for this, you can shoot in the sand or in the water, BOOM, 2 different photos done. Working in the suburbs or streets would also be easy, find some stylish looking buildings or road markings and shoot from one side of the street and then switch it up to the other - Fremantle is a great place for this! Third thing - BACKGROUND - sure you might have found a great location, but when you take that pic, what do you see in the background? Are there tonnes of other people? Do you want them there? What about that main road? Does that suit what you're trying to capture? At the end of the day photography is an art and art is all subject to how you interpret it. So if you love it, then you've done a brilliant job and that's all that matters - plus you now have those memories captured to last for generations to come! I'd love to hear where you most commonly take snaps of your kids? See more

20.01.2022 Did you see it? MINI SESSIONS HAVE JUST BEEN RELEASED! Check my stories NOW Oh the joy! Oh the Excitement! I honestly can't wait to shoot you all

18.01.2022 So what we didn't get that picture perfect sunset, the moment was still there to be captured

16.01.2022 Last night I got to meet the newest member of this gang and as I start to go through their gallery tomorrow, I'll be sharing some before and afters for you in my stories too, so you can get a little bit more of an insight to how I edit! How does that sound? Thank you for a great little session Chanté + Dayle

16.01.2022 From Your initial enquiry to delivery - here’s what to expect! Don’t forget to enter the GIVEAWAY, drawn on Friday!! I explain how to enter at the end of the video Today I’m walking you through my booking process and giving you time frames on what to expect when it comes to delivery.

15.01.2022 MY TOP TIP FOR SNAPPING PICS AT THE ORCHARDS So you’ve decided to head to the orchards this spring to capture your children, or possibly just even yourself amongst all the blooming blossoms only to get home and realise your iPhone snaps haven’t done your time there any justice. Let me just share my first and foresmost tip with you to help you out just a little...... Avoid midday like the plague! Actually, if you can, avoid the weekend altogether! I get it, the weekend is when you all spend family time together - no school - no work - but the same goes with the rest of Perth! Plus the orchards actually entice you to visit on the weekends by having their festival days in the weekend, having activities set up for the kids etc etc. But if you’re after the pretty photos, I’m thinking you don’t want every Joe, Dick, and Bill photo bombing every image - and they most likely will be (and you in theirs) unless you’re really strategic on how the camera is placed. And hey, if you can’t or don’t want to avoid the weekend, know that it can still work for you, you just have to get a little crafty with the camera positions and avoid the busiest hours. If I was you, I would try and get my photos as soon as the doors open or just before close See more

14.01.2022 I need to push through. You are who you surround yourself with. Slacking off is not an option. The results will far outweigh the struggles. I must persevere.... Last year I had so many exciting goals - none of them came to fruition, mainly coz of Covid, but it's also easy to blame that as an excuse for NONE of it happening, and then nothing else being recreated instead. I don't want for that this year. My goals are different ones this year, ones that are more in line with requiring consistent effort. There are goals that I may not even physically see a result to in my lifetime, but the knowing that I've pushed through to do my bit will suffice. Other goals will come straight from the heart, but require a lot of head to see progress and then of course there's the biz goals. Where do I want Chanelle Megan Photography to be in one years time? Everything I want this year, will only come from perseverance. I need to persevere through the hard, and unmotivated days and keep showing up to my goals. It's not going to be easy for me - I've always been one to just sit down and blob when overwhelm gets the better of me instead of figuring out how to tackle it, and I'm not going to be perfect at it, especially straight away, but if I can persevere through all that life has for me this year, I think I could be onto a winner The word that I have chosen to inspire me and push me through the year is Perseverance. I have set my intention to Persevere through all aspects of my life this year. So here's to persevering and powering through 2021 See more

14.01.2022 Because those kids you love and hold so close to your heart, wouldn't be here without you. #iwastheretoo #perthfamilyphotographer

12.01.2022 These two could not have visualised a more perfect day to get married if they tried June 21st 2020 1 year since they’d been together, the winter solstice and a new moon Weddings aren’t something I always say yes to photographing, but small and intimate where I’m just able to do my thing and stand back at times... then I’ll consider it. ... Congratulations Amy + Nick I hope you guys enjoyed your night

11.01.2022 Hey friends, I'm Chanelle and I'm here to capture all of your summer time memories in the open fields and alongside the ocean, over some delicous golden sunsets. What do you get in return though? You get quality time with your family; with those little children of yours. Watch their smiles grow wide and really witness the wind gently stroking their hair. You get images to flip back through year after year, reliving that time of your life as if it was only yesterday.... And you get images of YOU; images of YOU WITH YOUR KIDS, FOR YOUR KIDS and your grandkids and your great grandkids and your great great grandkids. Was there anything else that you might be wanting in return or did I pretty much nail it? #perthfamilyphotographer #perthfamilyphotography #familyphotography #perth

10.01.2022 This here is my happy place and if there weren't any waves I really would've been on cloud 9 As the last sunset of 2020 went down I took a big sigh and let go of any remaining tension. I wasn't the only one, as I heard clapping and cheering coming from a distance behind me. 2021 is a year to buckle down and I can't wait for you to come on the ride with me. There's one spot left for my January photo sessions and I'd love to and be honoured to have you and your little f...am in front of my camera and hanging out with me for an hour of so! Email me or send me a message now and let's catch up! [email protected] See more

09.01.2022 Shooting on film for my personal work has taught me a lot about feeling the image before taking the shot; it's a much slower process and a heck of a lot more expensive shooting film, but I love how I can transfer that feeling (not the expense) over to my digital work for you too. I strive to capture moments that you too will feel when you look back at your images

09.01.2022 Today I sit here and I struggle with what to write. I had my intentions to share with you the release of my Mother's Day mini session gift vouchers to either purchase for yourself or to tag your other half in so that he knew what to buy you. And while I could sit and remind you for the 100th post in your feed, to shop local, stay indoors, enjoy and embrace in your family a little bit more and that what you put your focus on, is what your reality will be, it doesn't change the... fact that small businesses like mine, and my hairdressers and my massage therapist and my eyebrow queens may very soon cease to trade if the government permits it so. Despite all this - should you wish to play a part in supporting me, I do have gift vouchers available to be used either before or after Mother's Day. As of right now I can still go outdoors and capture some beautiful memories between you and your children, but totally understand if you'd rather wait until the summer to do so as well. These Mother's Day gift vouchers are $200 for 20minutes and 15 digital images. And you have the choice of whatever location you’d like. The gift voucher will be emailed to you and this year they will have an 18 month expiry. As always give me a holla if this is something you’d be interested in or tag your other half below to give him some ideas See more

08.01.2022 Hands up if you spend most of the summer ocean side; or at least you like to imagine you do Even though it’s not the closest beach to us I love to hit up Coogee - I’d love to hear what beach you love the most in Perth... maybe I haven’t been there before and you need to show me the ropes during our next photo shoot together #perthbeaches #perthfamilyphotographer #familyphotographer

06.01.2022 ** GIVEAWAY ALERT** I went live today on IG - first time in a long time for my photography page! I have announced a little GIVEAWAY at the end too, and I didn’t want you to miss out, so I’m sharing the video here, and will continue to do so for the rest of the week I know Facebook can be a pain sometimes when it comes to tagging businesses, so feel free to friend and tag me personally, whilst still commenting with my biz name if the biz tag doesn’t work x... #perthfamilyphotographer #perthnewbornphotographer #perthmums

05.01.2022 Did you know, we're a little over a month away until the sheets get a real hammering I honestly need more than two hands to count all the valentines day babies that I've met in my life! That's all the babies due to be born mid November... heck I'm one of them And in case that is going to be you this year, I wanted to let you know the best time to book in your maternity session with me! Especially if it's your first time; I get it, a maternity session probably hasn...'t even crossed your mind, but I can't tell you many times now that I wish with all my heart that it had! I was smart enough to book that newborn session, but having never been pregnant like this again, it really pains me that I have little memories to look back on of that time So if you do happen to find yourself growing another little human at the end of March or throughout April (or anytime really!) then start figuring out your dates. A maternity or pregnancy session is best taken place during that 8th month between 32 and 36 weeks. Some people like to wait until their at least 20 weeks to actually book the session, but if your 8 month dates happen to fall between October and December, then you'll likely want to get in even earlier as those can be some busy arse months for photographers in general and if I can't fit you in, I would feel so bad because I know how important these pics are! So save this post for later, because you never know what the future may bring and that way you can check back on it to remind yourself of the dates you need to know for you maternity shoot.

05.01.2022 HEY LOVERS Are you carefree and up for a bit of fun? Do you mind if I third wheel with you for half an hour?... I love taking pics of families - the parents and their mini-me's that follow on after them, but in doing that I've discovered how much I also love just getting pics of the couple, no kiddos involved. So this post is for the lovers who may or may not have kids. Maybe you've only been together one year, maybe you've just gotten engaged or maybe you've been married for 10 years, either way, you are confident in your relationship with each other. You're open with each other and unashamed of being silly and goofy at times. You guys love love, and it's time to document that! This year I am now taking bookings for couples sessions. Still candid, connected and authentic - just without any kids. I'd love for you to take my last spot this January! Please help me get the word out by loving on this post, saving it and then sharing it with anyone who you think might need this! See more

04.01.2022 You know what time it is?! It's time to take a deep breathe and thank yourself for getting through the year! Acknowledge all of the milestones, achievements and celebrations that put a smile on your face, as well as the hard and sad moments that naturally come with being human. Whether your skulling back a bottle of 'booch that's good for the guts or a bottle of bubbles to cheers your way into the new year, make sure you enjoy yourself and tell me below some of your favourite spots to hang out on New Years Eve

03.01.2022 New year, new me, new life - we are so close to seeing out 2020 and I can't help but feel a slight sense of relief to be honest! I realise Covid may not be going anywhere soon, but that doesn't mean a clean start for our minds can't be in order. I'm not usually one for waiting until the 1st of January or the start of a new week on a Monday to really get stuck into some goals, but at the same time I'm hanging for that fresh diary, the stress of the silly season to be washed aw...ay and to just really sit down and set some intentions for the year ahead. As you process your thoughts over the next couple of days in prep for 2021, I want you to be mindful of everything you've learnt this year, how much you've grown, and prepare yourself to be a better version you. While you're at it, let me know if you ever decide upon a "word of the year" for yourself? Have you heard of people doing this before? I'd love to hear the word you choose for yourself this year too!

02.01.2022 We sadly went without our beloved Marlin this Christmas, and it still sucks so much what happened to him and that he couldn't be with us these holidays. I however made sure we weren't without a furry little fella to keep us entertained through this festive season Meet Romeo. The moment he was brought through the doors at the Cat Haven rescue centre - we knew he was to be our next little bestie and he hasn't disappointed us yet Thank you to all the staff at the shelter. You guys are doing wonders for all the cats and kittens that you're currently inundated with. You guys are working hard and giving so much love to those furry fellas in need - without you guys, we wouldn't have had our special lil guy to spend Christmas with
