21.01.2022 On the couch with @cary.thornton With a shared love of posing on balcony’s in the Docklands, I caught up with one of the Docklands / Inner City’s strongest Sales Agents ( and all round legend ) to see how lockdown life was treating Cary. From being an agent who most likely spends 10% of his time at home, what is the one thing that is driving you the craziest being at home?... As most agents I’m a social person so not having friends/colleagues to have a laugh with, celebrate the wins, chat about the loses in the moment and just missing the everyday office banter is killing me the most. As soon as things re-open, what is the first thing you will be doing? Hmmm so many things but being a bit of a foodie first stop will probably be eating at a nice restaurant and hopefully with a few friends if we are allowed. What goals did you set for 2020 which you haven’t been able to achieve due to lockdown? Personally, my holiday goals are looking very different. Professionally our market thankfully hasn’t been impacted too much and we have even secured some deals in stage 4 however I did have some goals set to get more involved in certain community groups which will help me contribute to an area I both live and work in. What is your biggest advice to agents who are struggling during lockdown? Don’t be too hard on yourself, results are unlikely to come straight away in this time but think about the wins you have had off the back of previous months hard work and know that will happen after lockdown from the work you put in now. Also it doesn’t have to be all about work right now, you know yourself so do things that make you happy every day to stay positive rather than just follow what routine works for others.

07.01.2022 On the Couch with @natmcasey_ ( yes, we are long lost sisters ) Nat, the superstar of the St Kilda market and I caught up to see how Nat was managing lockdown life. On a scale of 1-10, how sick is your cat of you? HA! Lets go with 10.... What has been your biggest guilty pleasure during lockdown? Bingeing on Selling Sunset and Suits. I don’t often watch too much TV so the binge sessions have been enjoyable. Keeping track of your socials, you have shared nothing but positive quotes/affirmations throughout the entire restriction phase. How have you managed to maintain such a positive attitude throughout the lockdown? That’s a great question, perspective has been key. Like everyone I have high and lows, not seeing my family (in NZ), having to postpone my wedding and being inside 23 hours a day is challenging. I have non-negotiables every day which include listing 10 things I’m grateful for, doing my hair and makeup, going for a walk, speaking to one friend or family member and cooking dinner. I don't watch the news and I’ve avoided following accounts that make me anxious. Accounts like The Dodo and Good News Movement restore my faith in humanity and make me smile. Who doesn’t love cute animal stories? Do not only that makes you happy but what makes your soul feel good. How have your goals changed since lockdown? They have shifted from being solely career focussed to being equally as focussed on quality time with friends/family, mental health and fitness. When we return to ‘normal’ I want to ensure we have learned the lessons taught to us through this pandemic. What is your first holiday destination once borders re-open? The day the border re-opens Benn and I will be on a plane to NZ so I can give my family one big squeeze.
