25.01.2022 Western Power Network Tariffs Network tariffs make up between 30-50% of your electricity bill The Economic Regulation Authority approves Western Powers tariffs for 5-year periods... New tariffs to be set for July 2019 Change Energy will analyse the new tariffs to ensure the lowest possible cost for our customers On 2 January 2019, the Economic Regulation Authority (ERA) issued its Further Final Decision regarding Western Power Access Arrangement for the period of 2017/18 to 21/22. The ERA has decided not to approve Western Powers submission and will now instead draft its own Access Arrangement, including tariffs that will come into effect on 1 July 2019.
25.01.2022 On this day in 1872, the first kerosene burning streetlight was erected outside the Perth Town Hall on the corner of Howick (later Hay) and Barrack Streets. It ...took almost another year before the second streetlight was installed in May 1873 at the corner of William and Hay Streets, and another 20 years for the first electric streetlight to be installed. Today, there are over 270,000 streetlights that we install and maintain on behalf of most local councils. #PoweringWA

17.01.2022 The attached charts shows wind and solar generation (and the resulting system load on the grid) as cold fronts move over Perth on August 5th and 14th of this year. As the quantity of PV and wind generation continues to grow, the occurrence of sudden and sharp swings of the load on the grid will increase, both in severity and frequency, especially during severe weather events. To keep the grid within operational boundaries (and ensure stable supply), AEMO Systems Operations team must try to predict, and respond to the resulting load by turning on and off reserve generation. 10.01.2022 Bundled or unbundled energy pricing? Which is best? Electricity retailers usually offer 2 types of pricing for their business customers: Bundled or Unbundled. Bundled pricing means that all of the different components that go into the cost of electricity (energy, network charges, capacity charges and environmental charges) are bundled into the energy rates. ... Unbundled pricing means that all of the individual components are passed through to the customer. Typically, customers spending between $12,000 to $60,000 per year on electricity will receive Bundled pricing offers from retailers. However, if you can control your electricity usage or have back-up generators, you may be able to realise significant reductions on some of the components of electricity costs that will be passed on to you if you chose Unbundled pricing. What pricing structure are you on? If you're ready to make the switch, call us on 1300 924 140.
