04.01.2022 As a painter, Mollie has always enjoyed art and wanted to pursue a career in the creative field. Soon enough, she relocated from country Victoria to Melbourne to study Interior Design and Decoration at RMIT. When Mollie first started studying, she regularly travelled four blocks to the Changing Places at the Royal Dental Hospital.... This difficult arrangement meant that she often missed out on interactions with other students and teaching staff, and critical class time. Thankfully, a chance discussion with Mollie’s course coordinator led to the eventual installation of a Changing Places facility next to the library, in Building 94. The new Changing Places facility meant that Mollie could now fully participate in student life without having to worry about travelling to a suitable toilet outside the university building. It just made life a lot easier all my classes were on Level 5 of that building, it was really good Learn more about Changing Places and where they can be found across Australia: https://bit.ly/3lKM1ws

02.01.2022 I just want people to understand that everyone deserves dignity. No one expects you to sit on a bathroom floor so why should my daughter? Rebecca’s daughter Sarah has a rare chromosome syndrome, which has led to profound physical and intellectual disability. Too often, Rebecca and Sarah are forced to improvise when it comes to finding a suitable bathroom. ... That can mean anything from having to resort to asking at a medical centre, using the floors of regular accessible bathrooms or even hidden from view in a public park.
