03.01.2022 CTC Case Study: Terytag - Part 2 CTC spent time understanding Terytag’s product requirement, including obtaining a mock design from Terytag. Once CTC understood Terytag’s requirement, CTC conducted a search and contacted 3 manufacturers in Hunan, China that made towels and terry towelling products. CTC then provided the manufacturers details and pricing information to Terytag.... The first manufacturer option was able to provide a sample of the shorts, but they had an initial minimum order quantity requirement that exceeded Terytag’s budget. The second manufacturer option was able to produce the shorts to Terytag’s style and colour specifications. However, they were unable to produce a towelling product to the design specification thickness that Terytag required. CTC was able to source a sample that met Terytag’s specifications from the third manufacturer option. The manufacturer accepted that the initial order quantity was rather small but CTC was able to negotiate a smaller quantity on the basis that Terytag would use the manufacturer for future orders, if required, as well as the hope that it would lead to future China-Australia business opportunities. After Terytag received the sample shorts from the manufacturer and confirmed that they met its requirement, CTC helped Terytag negotiate and sign the contract and place the order. CTC’s lawyer drafted the contract and CTC translated it into English for Terytag.

02.01.2022 CTC Case Study: Terytag - Part 1 A local Melbourne business wanted to source towelling shorts for their start-up (Terytag). Terytag considered a number of local suppliers but did not find the right product at the right price point in Australia, for its business model. Terytag contacted CTC and provided details of the product they were looking to source. Terytag wanted to source toweling shorts based on its own design.

He worked for the People’s Bank of China in monetary policy and regulation of financial institutions for 20 years and has subsequently been involved in businesses and entrepreneurial pursuits, including real estate on Hainan Island and Co-f...ounding and managing his auction house - Hunan Yanjian, which deals in everything from art and antiques to land and other investments. Value to CTC and its customers: JingPing has close connections with former colleagues, who work for Chinese companies and manufacturers, as well as his entrepreneurial and business contacts in Hunan and surrounding provinces, providing CTC and its customers with access to his networks and contacts. JingPing has had many of his own businesses and understands the challenges of starting a new business and sourcing products from all over China.
