07.01.2022 Channing’s Bottle Yard Dareton hours are the same as Broken Hill with an opening time of 10am.

04.01.2022 Our Dareton yard has had to close early. Sorry but this is beyond our control.

02.01.2022 These are uncertain times. Due to Covid-19 for the safety of our staff, customers and families we have made the difficult decision to close both our Broken Hill and Dareton yards. We will be closed until further notice as of 4pm today, 25/3/2020. The Management and staff would like to thank all our customers for their understanding at this time. Stay safe and we will see you on the other side!

02.01.2022 Broken Hill - Spent some time at Channing's Bottle Yard! this morning, was shown the awkward metro centric "Return and Earn" system they have to implement. On ...average, each person coming in has 900 units to recycle. People off properties can bring much more. The metro model of feeding cans or bottles one by one just doesnt work. It was designed in Europe, and probably should have stayed there!. Systems designed for metro areas should stay in metro areas. We are not the same, and it should never be assumed that we are. The metro model needs a smart phone and some level of technical skill. If you want to be paid in anything close to currency, you need a paypal account. Many people out west dont bother trying to get the 10 cents.... its just too much trouble.... Channings at Broken Hill is making this system work for customers. They make it easy and fast to return items and collect deposits. Return and earn schemes are great in theory, but this one is woeful in execution, especially in rural areas. #Barwondeservesbetter
